    Back on topic...

What to watch for, is not the media reports, nor the (predictable) White House denials, nor even the Democratic responses (predictably outraged), but the reactions of GOP congressmen.

With each new scandal, Trump's congressional defenders become smaller in number, less vigorous in their defense, and increasingly short-tempered with the press.

We may be reaching the tipping point.

The ship will go down fast once that point is reached.

Remember that scene in Titanic, of the rats scurrying upward in advance of the rising water? That's the image I have in mind of GOP congressman when they suddenly realize the 2018 midterms aren't that far away and everyone remotely connected to Trump's presidency will get flounced, possibly even in a primary.

The problem is sir82 all he ever really does is just what you said. Shoot himself in the foot. I don't think anyone here has ever denied that. But what pans out from most of it? Usual media sensation because no one can believe what he said or tweeted. Like this whole releasing classified information to the Russians. What a cluster-cking joke. Another complete non-issue made to sound OH SO SCARY. Everyone gets worked up, and then its well, he didn't do anything wrong, buuuuuut... we don't like how he did it, or what he said. Again BFD. Washington Post can't jerk themselves off fast enough to get Water Gate 2.0.

Apparently Putin is offering a transcript of the meeting with Lavrov. Because ya know only the Russian media was allowed to be there.

Anyone notice that after announcing he's stepping down from office, and considering a run for Governor of Utah, with the possibility of a Presidential bid in the future, Jason Chaffetz is finally beginning to do his job as head of the Oversight Committee. Gee, I wonder why? Can we say "distancing" himself from Trump?

Like this whole releasing classified information to the Russians. What a cluster-cking joke. Another complete non-issue made to sound OH SO SCARY - I also find it strange that the people who want Trump investigated for leaking information to the Russians are very often the same people who protest the imprisonment of Chelsea Manning and the threatened imprisonment of Edward Snowden ... who both were involved in leaking classified US documents.

Best quote about this whole Democrat-led media circus:

They either don't understand that they are harming their country -- which makes them just dumb -- or they understand, which makes them dangerous and dirty.

    Again BFD.

Actually, it is a BFD. If nothing else, whether laws are technically broken or not, how long can you keep pretending that Trump isn't totally unfit for office.

Oh wait, you didn't actually say he's unfit. You just minimized the magnitude of his indiscretions, and at some point will no doubt tell us that you're politically neutral because both sides disgust you. Great way to never be wrong!

He told them about an ISIS threat in a completely LEGAL way, without divulging sources or anything sensitive

Think about that hypocrites, look through the MSM group think and think about it for yourself. Why is this bad?

    Why is this bad?

Honestly, this shouldn't have to be spelled out, but....

He divulged information that, with minimum effort, can be used to compromise the source of the information, resulting in not only the "burning" of that source but also a lowering of the confidence of US allies in sharing vital information with the US.

if you're a British / French / German / what-have-you intelligence agency, and you have sensitive information that will help a united effort to counteract terrorism, but you think the US president will carelessly blurt it out to Russian officials / NBC News / the cleaning lady, why would you share that information with the US?
