    So many "straws" for me!

I literally have a list that is 1.5 pages long of bullet points!

So, more like a "bail of straw" broke my camels back!

haha, when I was a kid,,, what OUTLAW said! But the actual straw?

One of my friends hung himself - 17, secretly gay and a cross dresser in an ultra conservative town (I was "serving where the need was greater" TM). Single mom, rabid JW, mid-1970s. He was missed, so we went to his room to find him.

    Hey, Jehovah?

    BUH-bye!

Have I mentioned lately, how much I detest the concept of that child-abusing, homophobic, vile, personification of evil that is referred to as "Jehovah"?

At my sister funeral, I walked right up to all my JW family members and reach for there hands.

They were dumbfounded but a funny thing happen, each one began to talk to me. My

sister husband (elder) talked about his health problems, my nephew(elder) wife whom I have never met

greeting me with a big smile. It was fun, I made them greet me are they would have looked like

fools in front of the other none witnesses guest. My brother I grabbed him, hugged him and told him

I love you.. HE looked like Don Knotts , standing there shaking.

Final Straw? It's a toss up between the fellow who made BIG contributions to the local KH and all the while he was embezzling from his business, withholding pay from his employees, evading taxes, getting drunk several times a week, cheating on both his first and second witness wives with "worldly" women, and was appointed a MS than an elder.

Or it could be the unloving, belittling, vengeful way my elderly frail parents are currently being treated I their congregation.

    One final straw after another!

A big straw was the illustration of the organisations structure - you know? GB at the top in deluxe leather boardroom chairs....No Jesus (surely you'd expect at least a nod to him in the illustration - aren't they Christian?) it got me on an emotional level - it felt like they were absolutely mocking us.

Each level of the org hierarchy was given lower chair status - LOL.

    What message is THAT?

My heart definitely did a hard shift - it was spine tingling.....it told me how 'they' view their brothers and sisters .....

More heavy straws through crazy doctrine - but it was that 'emotional' message I remember - along with the Robert story, he was DF'd and absolutely shunned - and he was grateful, as if his family had given him just a tiny bit of family contact, it would have been enough perhaps to keep him happy and not motivated him to 'return to Jehovah'

    Emotional blackmail - nothing less.

And they printed that story twice!!

    Blind as bats.

By the way, I could quote loads of doctrinal issues and false prophesies - but it was the sense of discomfort I got from 'hearing' a voice and perceiving a message through their incalculation tools that was absolutely unsettling.

Thanks so much for posting the illustration.

For thinking 'lurkers' - please consider what the message is from the men who call themselves 'Christ's Brothers'....Christ's 'ambassadors'

It's a message to the world.

If you, a caring witness could feel disturbed - imagine how this looks to a someone who you are trying to 'reach'

It's wrong - and you know it.

That pic is so absurd! Hilarious how the chairs continue to get shittier as you go down the food chain!

Also absurd when the vast size of the universe is considered. Here these tools are, amid a universe so vast no human can even comprehend its size, sitting at the top of the chain - Jesus' right hand men, so to speak!

I remember thinking the same thing about that illustration, there they are, the holy governing body, just slightly lower than God, while Jesus is no where to be seen. How dare they elevate themselves to such an exalted status? There are just men who put their pants on one leg at a time, just like anyone else. They defend their failed date predictions and doctrine flip flops by saying they are just imperfect humans, but turn around and present themselves as God like beings who must be obeyed no matter what. They make me sick.
