In Australia it is very common to see JWs drinking well over healthy levels. I can recall plenty of brothers and probably half a dozen or so elders who would drink the equivalent of 6 heavy beers or a bottle of wine daily, at minimum.
Drugs....why?

The XJW's I know personally have no alcohol problems, and do not do drugs.
The JW's I know personally have amongst them a good number who have an alcohol problem, and a good number who are dependent upon prescription drugs to keep them from being in a Hospital with emotional and mental problems.
One J.W Elder got on to the Platform totally shot away with booze a few years ago, apparently it was hilarious, he explained it away as his accidently mixing a small amount of booze with anti-biotics he was on. He was a big drinker of Whisky.
