  agree Hermit ... although this monument is an embarrassing chapter in their history, I'm surprised the GB did not attempt to take it down and make it disappear like so many other embarrassments.

  I think there's a reason for that.....someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the land is owned by the Bible Students (or the SDA church?) So Watchtower wouldn't have control of it to be able to remove it ( though I'm sure they'd love to!)

  Desecration of anyone's grave is a crime and should be prosecuted as such.

  Mmmmm, you got 80,000 families a year being destroyed through the disfellowshipping practice alone. This does not include the thousands of families destroyed and lives taken from the blood policy or the lives destroyed by unreported pedophiles in the Watchtower Organization. They are also criminally responsible for countless suicides due to their teaching that a person can self-atone when they die.
  
  Face it; The Watchtower organization started by Russell has been a sociological nuclear bomb unleashed on the human race. Our families just drew the short straw that's all.
  
  I am also utterly shocked that ANY WT monuments still exist. There is good reason for GB members to have body guards wherever they go.

  I called the cemetery this morning (August 30, 2021) and they informed me that the Watchtower Society is having the pyramid removed. I'm sure they want that part of history forgotten.

  Absolutely, Sea Breeze, I think governments don't understand the power this teaching has on the psyche of a witness.

  If they understood it's connection to suicide they'd reconsider Watchtower tax exempt status.

  I think the WT would be happy to see it gone.

  Something else they can deny as just a 'cute' relic from the past, like 80% of their teachings.

  Here in the UK we have "listed buildings" which are of architectural and/or historical interest. It's a pity something similar could not be applied to the pyramid as it is unique. I wonder what the WT society will do with it. Probably destroy it, which is a shame. It really should be restored and cleaned, probably look good as a roundabout feature at Warwick but I'm not sure you have roundabouts in the US!

  I did read a long time ago, probably on here, that it was they that opened it in the 1980's and removed the contents.
