I do not know if they run the program on the same night throughout the country but tonight Dateline

( I am preety sure) is running a piece on the Kennedy's Assassination. The commercial I heard for it

said they are going to use new technology to re-create the crime.

I personally do not need an alternative theory of why a very unpopular president was shot.

Kennedy was controversial, his whole family remains controversial. No suprise to me that this thread is controversial...

But to insist that the Government would hide the truth of his assasination?

    No, I dont think so....

We are very vocal in the US.

Where is the proof? Scientific proof? Not theories, but proof?

JFK had many, many enemies. Someone shot his ass, cased closed.

Thanks everyone. This conversation is great.

Big said: I found it very interesting that they showed a man (presumably Oswald) shooting from the 6th floor could walk (not run), hide the gun and go down 4 flights of stairs to the lunch room in 48 seconds. The police officer took 90 seconds to reach the lunch room after the assassination, so it is possible for Oswald to have NOT been out of breath after the assassination. That, to me, was new information. Doesn't mean he did it, but it is possible for him to have reached the lunch room, which before the program, I didn't think he could. BT, I couldn't agree more with your statement! By the time the police got up there, another "guy" could have also walked away. Who can say there were not more than ONE shooter from that room?

Little Witch said: The history behind the Kennedy's and their ever present quest for power is more interesting and logical than conspiracy theories...Humm, so are you saying that the Kennedy's took care of their own "mistake"???

Bebu said: I am going to try to learn more. Generally I am suspicious of conspiracy theories, but the accuracy of these shots in 8 seconds is almost too amazing to think one man could do this. I am by nature very skeptical as well. But, I've also listened to how "their" story has changed as well over the years. They keep saying that Oswald did this expert shooting in such a small window of time and then quickly, without being shaken or out of breath, was found by the police officer on the fourth floor just seconds later. After reading the testimony from one of our local sniper suspects, he said that that type of "target" is only good if it comes into the "scope". He indicated he did not have time to "find" the victim and then shoot. I just never believed that Oswald was that good....and too conveniently shot and killed afterward.

Mulan said: It didn't seem to fit the evidence and photos and experts, to me. I'm right with you Mulan. They showed us things, and then spoke differently. My husband and I both noticed that. They wanted us to reach "their" conclusions, if in fact, we were supposed to do that.

Metatron said: He was killed because he was seen as out of control and a threat to the entire world. I would have to totally agree with your thought.

Sns said: ..there are reasons to learn more if there is any new evidence or speculation that fills in some gaps left unanswered. That just about says it all. So much is still left to quiry.

Little Witch: Sorry, but you have got to be kidding. Yes, they are very vocal here in the US. They only tell us what they want us to know. That by no means is to say that we hear the truth.

President Kennedy was quite a leader, despite the fact that he upset and angered even his own government. What they did to him was criminal.

I wish to point out a piece of history that still remains kidnapped in the archives of U.S National Security:

Lets remember the embarrassing episode of the invasion at Bay of Pigs, Cuba, where a CIA-led, trained and equipped brigade of Cuban renegades hit the beach at Bahia de Cochinos, Cuba on several boats. As the Essex carrier launched and retrieved unmarked Skyhawk jet fighters and as shots were being fired on the beach, JF Kennedy –who inherited this problem when he took office - was strongly counseled by the CIA to keep the operation covert and have the American ambassador to stand before the U.N. General Assembly and deny any American intervention in that invasion. Days later, American reporters easily proved that a lie.

It is widely believed by military experts that this massive CIA force was quickly defeated BECAUSE JF Kennedy refused to give the order of air support by the jet fighters already present. American CIA agents and one CIA pilot died, and many agents wanted revenge vs. JFK for the air support he promised but never sent.

To reduce the embarrassement to himself, JF Kennedy proceeded to give the Medal of Honor (I believe) to the CIA director and proceeded to fire him a few weeks later. This is why it is suspected that the CIA arranged for his murder; The ex-director of the CIA named himself in charge of the JFK murder investigation.

Gerard: ...then again, it could have been a jealous husband. All kidding aside, what you said has merit, except for Elvis, of course. Everyone knows all he could hit were TV sets.

Do you think the government always tells us the truth? I sure don't think they do.

One of my earliest memories was the Kennedy assasination so it's long been of at least passing interest to me. I was in 7th or 8th grade when I read my first conspiracy book and have always believed it to be a govt. coverup....until recently.

The biggest piece of evidence that led me to say conspiracy was the frontal shot. Shots from front and rear = conspiracy no question. A few months ago there was a documentary (nope, don't remember the name - I'm a channel flipper) that showed a terrible scene of Nazi soldiers shooting jewish prisoners while they (the prisoners) were standing in a deep ditch. One of the prisoners, when shot - from behind - moved violently BACKWARDS. That was a revelation to me and I instantly thought of Kennedy and how I could be totally wrong about what I had always believed. I think I believed conspiracy because it's the most intriguing explanation and makes the discrepancies fit easily enough by saying "someone" did this or is covering up that. But I'm leaning more toward the explanation of a couple of oddballs (not that there's anything w-r-o-n-g with that) just playing out their lives with tragic consequences while seeking to be noticed.

    That being said...http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/25/62303/1.ashx
