    How bout....

write down funny things to do on slips of paper and make a game out of it somehow - people pick a slip out of the bowl and it says "Your mission, should you choose to accept it is......... and then have them do something funny. Or you could give each person one upon their arrival and they have to complete their mission before they leave and they can't tell anyone else about it- they just have to do it and only you know what the "missions" are and then you can watch them do silly things. Depending on where the party is held- you can have them asking neighbors for strange things - "Your mission, should you choose to accept it is to go to the neighbors and ask to borrow 2 tablespoons of garlic salt". If the party is at a public facility there is so much more to work with

-we did something similar at a wedding one time. My cousin got married and they were having it at a hotel and we were all staying at the hotel and like the silly people they were they left the party room open over night-hehe. We took a bunch of the printed matchbooks they had made and wrote things for the recipient "to do" and then we got to watch them. For example- "Go to the front desk to claim your prize"- (that one was fun to watch) or "Find Grandma and give her a dollar" "Find Ted to collect your prize" (Ted had no clue what they were talking about)- lots of silly harmless things that were hilarious. You get the gist.

You could play "Mission Impossible Trivia"

WOW, XenaWarrior! Those are terrific ideas! I'll pass 'em along....I'm sure they'll enjoy them a lot...heheheheh

Exploding invites may be a bit hard to get hold of.... so why not write the invites and the 'tasks' on sugar paper using food coloring as ink. Then the person would be able to eat the instructions to make sure nobody else found them. Or you could do a variation on a murder mystery night, where everybody has to band together to find Mr Evil, especially if you get a few tricks thrown in too from a pyrotechnic shop.

Gadget, I found some of the self-destructing paper at a gag shop in Houston at the Galleria years ago, but you're right....it might be difficult to find....and your idea is a really good one....I'll pass it along, K?

    Thank you both so much!

Michael, that's a really good idea....if they don't wanna do that exactly, it's an idea they can work with, yanno?
