I think the best way to test that theory is to become the element of the destruction. If yo really want to know if someone will step in, do it and find out. Destroy the o-zone layer, kill everyone, etc.

Magnetic reversals...feh!
Some interesting conspiracy theories/psychic predictions have hit the web lately, chief among them being the "prediction" that Japan is going to experience a major earthquake around the end of November.
What's disturbing about all this, but probably just a coincidence, is that loads of earthquakes are currently happening around the Pacific's "Ring of Fire". There was a BIG one in the Phillipines only recently.
I'll be watching these developments with interest...

A thousand years! Who cares, either I'll be dead, or watching everything from a better angle or picking apples off a tree with my dress shirt buttoned up to the top smiling all the time while petting a gorilla or something like that.

The earth's magnetic field naturally reverses every few thousand years. The conspiracy people say that when it happens again all hell will break loose with modern technology, navigation, satellites, etc... what these people DON'T tell you is that the reversal happens VERY slowly. It takes a minimum of several hundred years... sometimes well over a thousand years to happen. What this means is that we will have longer than modern technology has existed to adapt to the changes. What this means is that any navigation equipment that is not compatible with the reversal will be an antique by the time the reversal is over.
