If you consider that Wallkill and Patterson have more than 1,000 people at each location, the size of many small towns, it is not surprising that they have their own power plants/sewage plants especially when they are in rural areas that do not have the facilities to accommodate something of that size. Many large business (the WTS is a printing/publishing company) have their own power plants. Large prisons do the same.

Here is some more information for those who would like to check the regulations set forth by Government, whether the Power Plant is classified as (Utility) --or (Nonutility). All Power Plants must meet Government standards and safety codes. Certain pieces of equipment must also be (tagged, marked, numbered, safety stickers, etc,--and all of these items must be handed out or sent from government. Some tags even display the symbol of the American Flag.

Nonutility Power Plants are bound by the regulations of the (FERC) no matter what they are producing the energy for, and are part of Government relationships. They are in fact (partners) in producing electricity. Go here:

So wait a minute according to the Watchtower Society all Governments of the World are fornicating with satan yet the Watchtower Society owns Power Plants which have to be Govt regulated?

With all due respect, RPM, when I was a JW lurking on this board, a comment like that would have seemed to me like proof that "apostates" were unreasonable and out to criticize the Society for anything.
I definitely think this is an interesting piece of data Voyager has found. However, I don't believe that merely submitting to government regulation of a power plant constitutes political entanglement. Building codes are governmentally regulated as well. To construct a building, you have to submit to government regulations. Food service is governmentally regulated. Heck, just paying taxes is submitting yourself to government regulation!
So again, I think that it's interesting to find out that the WTS has its own power plant at Patterson. But if we're going to try to draw conclusions about political entanglement, I suggest we stick to areas where the evidence is clear, like the NGO scandal, rather than trying to manufacture mountains out of molehills.
I use to attend Kingdom Hall meetings myself but never actualyl got Baptized JW nor did I ever do the Field Service thign but I had believed the Watchtower Teachings for a time back when I was attending Kingdom Hall Meetings with an Aunt and Cousin.
I do remember being told stuff about how the Government was Associated with satan but about obeying laws of the land provided such laws didn't violate Jehovah's Laws including of course paying Taxes to the Government.
However the Watchtower Society had Opposite rulings go in effect pertainign to well in the African Country of Malawi all Citizens were required to purchase 25 cent Political Party Identification Cards, The Watchtower Society told it's followers in Malawi to refuse to comply with that law.
Lots of Jehovah's Witnesses were Murdered and Raped for refusing to comply with thw law. Homes of many of them were destroyed for refusal to comply.
Some fled to neighboring Countries to avoid further mishaps.
However in Mexico they had at one time required that all Males complete one year of Basic Military Training in which if that happened you would be granted a Card that said you Completed Basic Training and were now in the 1st Reserve of the Mexican Military.
However even though the Watchtower Society forbade Witnesses in Malawi from purchasing 25 cent Party Identification Cards they actually allowed Male Witnesses in Mexico to bribe a Military Official into filling out a Card that would claim the Witness completed 1 year of Basic Training and was now in the 1st Reserves.
The Watchtower Society also said if a Witness felt he could commit the Bribery it was entirely up to him to decide if he wanted to Bribe Military Officials into the Fraud.
