15+ years ago after reading another Watchtower letter to elders with a new rule, I said to 3rd Gen " Jesus said to take his Yoke because it was kinder and gentler than that of the Pharisees" ...."Do you think JWs have a lighter load than Jews or heaver load?" We just looked at each other...the answer was obvious.
My little Donkey with the overloaded cart is my opinion of JWs...their cart is loaded.

When I finally ‘Faded’ from the Jehovah’s Witnesses, I felt like I set down a ton of bricks! It was such a relief that I could hardly believe it.
No way was any of this ever Jesus’s kindly yoke and light load!.. Far from it.
When I was a kid, I usually sat with my parents, a few rows from the back. One night, I decided to sit in the second row. 🤷♀️ The brother on stage read that scripture about the light burden and kind.y yoke. He then stated, “See, the load is light!”. I turned around from my vantage point in front, I saw a sea of faces, expressing how they felt about his statement. What an eye opener!
When I was a child, my grandma had a wooden plaque in her kitchen. It was Jesus words which said, Ye Shall Know the Truth, and the Truth Will Set Ye Free. Simple statement like that used to make me ponder if I was set “free” by knowing the “truth”, which the JWs call their religion. I wondered (to myself) if I was supposed to be set “free” by knowing the “truth”, then why did it feel more like jail?
Evidently, lol, I was on my way to leaving, even as a kid.
I brought this scripture up to my jw years ago. His response? "you mean you think it is ok to celebrate a new moon?!!" I attempted to point out that it wasn't me saying that but the Bible itself. He just couldn't get past a 'new moon' thing. Maybe he tied it to witchcraft or new age stuff? I don't know
