Any news on Blood?

I haven’t seen anything in the news lately and wt position remains the same, so no change. Except, that when there is massive blood loss, my family mds have told me that without a BT there is practically zero chance of pulling through—short of an act of God. JW know this and have decided beforehand. Since there is a considerable risk of infection and a potential risk of deadly infection or reaction although the other option is the big sleep, that fear of potential infection is very great. JW are not concerned about DF. That’s just propaganda from opposers. The big concern is the fear of infection. Figure a person is infected, after he will always regret not having trusted in God, and maybe he would have made it. That’s how people think. People remember AIDS shocking news, and now covid. So, JW mind frame doesn’t want to take any chances. Most important, JW believe that BT violates God’s law stated in Acts and unlike the Jewish principle of Pikuah Nephesh, there is no way around the scripture that JW interprets as proscribing bt. There are different arguments that challenge JW interpretation but the JW fds still stands on the same interpretation at present.

There have been very interesting threads on blood discussing some aspect of JW belief and practice in the past from TD, Marvin Shilmer, cofty and others, but those arguments are not persuasive because the JW position remains unchanged. Maybe I’ve said something that is incorrect or not exactly how JW are doing it but that’s what seems are JW beliefs. Without hesitation a JW will not accept blood treatment because JW believe that doing so displeases God.

AFAIK nothing has changed. The JW position is still based on false analogies, medical misinformation, speculation and grammatical misconstruction.

Therefore AFAIK, the moral dilemma remains unchanged. On one side of the scales, you have very clear commands about the sanctity of the gift of life and the severe penalty for unjustly depriving another human of that gift and on the other side of the scales, you have questionable (human) reasoning on what commands against eating blood might have meant in the context of modern medicine.

(And as a side note, the Jewish side of me got a chuckle at a principle very clearly embraced by Jesus of the Bible being written off as "Jewish")

A couple of months ago, my mother (in her mid-80s) had internal bleeding. The doctors at the hospital could not locate the source of the bleeding, and my mother made it clear that she would not accept transfusions. I found out that this was happening when I got a call from her the next morning, where she was basically saying her good-byes because the doctors feared that she would be dead before the day was out.

They managed to save her by giving her fluids and a medication that apparently can slow internal bleeding, which they use after certain surgeries (first I ever heard of this!). By the end of the day, the bleeding (which they never did locate the source of) stopped and she slowly began to recover her red blood cell count. She left the hospital a couple of days later.

So, it seems as if the no-blood transfusion edict remains as it is. JWs can get almost any part of blood if it is isolated, but not blood itself. Although, to be honest, I think that if they decided that transfusions were okay, she would probably not want to get one. Too much time believing in the old stance to accept any changes.

That is true IF wt directive is not coming from God as WT claims to be directed by holy spirit and the FDS, Jesus “brothers” on earth, the wife of Christ, kingdom heirs and kings in heaven, the seed. But if wt is the entity it claims to be -and JW are convinced that holy spirit directs “God’s organization”-then there is no way around the scripture because God is the source of wt decisions.

TD, you make a powerful argument even considering the argument that since wt has been wrong before, logically they can be wrong again —as you point out the variable of human error—but JW are mentally convinced.

If the FDS were correct, they wouldn't allow blood fractions -after all, the blood wasn't poured on the ground and then divided. So I think people should just follow their conscience on the matter and not pay attention to a group of men who have no more direction from God Almighty than a horse. ( actually the horse may have more ) That being said, I tend to take it literally that we are to abstain from Blood to the best of our ability. That scripture in Acts does link it to health. There is also the scripture that says not to ask about what you find in the meat market for the sake of your conscience. ( I bet there are a lot of things we wouldn't eat if we knew the whole process ) What with so many having now been vxxed, there is a greater concern in getting transfusions. ( I know some don't want to accept that they were given "poison"....more info comes out everyday as more are dying from clots, heart issues, and cancers , not counting disabilities brought on by the jabs.) Personally I don't want anybody's blood or their organs. That isn't because of JW....but my own discernments. ( I would still be JW if not for my own discernments )

    Hi,

Nothing new ... it's already difficult to understand , JW do not need "new light" :)

    for example

    Plasma on 2006 in KM ... albumin 4% .. Immunoglobulin 3 % clotting factor 1 ... so 4 +3 + 1 = 8 % of plasma

and in the g 8/06 pp. 5-9 plasma is

Water constitutes 91.5 percent of plasma. Proteins, from which plasma fractions are derived, constitute 7 percent of the plasma (including albumins, which make up about 4 percent of the plasma; globulins, about 3 percent; and fibrinogen, less than 1 percent). The remaining 1.5 percent of plasma is made up of other substances, such as nutrients, hormones, respiratory gases, electrolytes, vitamins, and nitrogenous wastes.

So, In fact 100 % of the plasma is OK !!! but uniquely under fraction form ...

If you mix all plasma fraction ... you can't use it !!!

Another point is difficult ... BloodPatch is OK https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/202006400?q=Blood+Patch&p=par

formely it an autologous transfusion ...

but for the Covid Vaccin , the CC said ... Vaccine contain no blood ... a blood patch as a volume of blood that is around 40 times the volume of the Vaccine !!!

Vaccine with blood .. no !

    But Blood Patch OK !

:( ... And I can speak about White Cells and Collostrum

Or Red Blood Cell and Monochorionic Foetus or Blood Test to determine the sex of foetus with the test of the mother Blood

In fact, The JW rules are too complicated to really understant it .. :)

    Best Regards

Old Testament "Jehovah's Witnesses ", i.e. the real ones, were permitted to eat unbled meat of animals slain in their fields. And they weren't disfellowshipped as long as they washed up at the end of day.

TD, PN is Rabbinical misunderstanding of :

“So you may live by them.” Jesus never taught that interpretation. The words are not implying that someone under the law was released from law if obedience would result in his death such as dying of hunger then eating infected pork unknowingly to live by them. Also, the work Jesus allowed on the Sabbath was the same work Jews of that era were already doing such as untying animals to get them water, etc. Jesus said nothing about only observing the law when it resulted in life.
