42years have passed since the great 1975 expectation delivered nothing. Blame for the expectations laid at feet of the faithful, 'it's your fault , you believed us so you are responsible for the let down'

I have asked this previously and repeat the point, where were the current members of the Governing Body, 43 years ago. Many if not all MUST have experienced the pressure to do more as the end was not imminent. It was at the door. Those men MUST know the responsibility the WT has for the position of very many who rushed to obey, doing more, selling up, leaving work, building up a whole load of finance issues now. Do they dare look people in the eye who were also alive in75 who were savagely let down. Or where they not listening at meetings, conventions, special talks, not reading the literature, so that they were unaware of this massive lead on, to nothing. . No shame, no pain is their motto apparently

They weren't babies in 1975. Watchtower, under the direction of the cult leaders, has decided to put the cult leaders out into the light and allows members to idolize them better. You can look them up and discover that most were in the full time recruiting work in 1975.

So yeah, your point is valid. But they drank the Kool Aid, so they have to keep putting the organization above all else.

LOST AND FOUND- Good points you make. I look at governing body members in the same light as I looked at Harold Camping when he said the world was gonna end in 2012 in his " religion " . All it was - was a scam in order to get control over people and their money. WT leaders are NO different.

I love the title of your thread. " Where were the present members of the GB in 1975 " .

The present members were young pioneers deceived like every other JW by mind control. The more pertinent question now is , Where are those older GB members from 1975 -- NOW ?

They are all DEAD. So it proves their promises were false. Your comment , " Those men must know the responsibility the WT has for the position of very many who rushed to obey........ " . Well, those GB members from 1975 don't know anything right now- they're dead. But even when they were alive did they care about how people " rushed to obey " their every word ? Did they care that they the governing body were selling lies to 6 million JW's. No. Because none of the GB ever had a conscience. All they wanted was control, money, and power over 6 million JW humans on this planet. And now think about it- the GB couldn't even prevent their own deaths from growing old and dying.

Might be a cold hearted view- but it's honest. What's even colder is how these WT leaders have deceived people for 138 years since 1879 about an imaginary " end of the system " . Disgusting. Let them rot in their graves I say. Like the singer Jim Morrison said, " No one here gets out alive . " Peace out, Mr. Flipper

I am sure they all remember the hype and are complicit in trying to deceive and whitewash history.

Herd is the oldest. He was 40 in 1975 and a full time recruiter.

Loesch was 35, already "anointed", and was a Gilead trained Missionary.

Splane was 32, a Gilead trained missionary.

Lett was 28, son of a CO, claiming to be anointed since age 19, and a Bethelite.

Morris was 25, newly recruited and baptized in 1971 in the frenzy leading up to 1975, pioneering and raising a young family. This might have added to his PTSD from the Vietnam War.

Jackson was 20, having been baptized as a child, dropping out of high school, pioneering from his teens, and married in time to have sex before Armageddon.

Sanderson is the youngest, but baptized very young at age 9 in 1973. His deluded parents might understand all of this best, since they likely were anxious to get him baptized before his destruction in fall 1975. At age 11, he would have believed anything the adults told him.

As Dreamerdude pointed GB JWS today are indoctrinated believers mostly derived from their parental upbringing.

As a kid growing up a JWS I know whats this is all about, much of the baptismal at a young age is to appease your parents and get recognition from others at your Hall, the climbing up the ladder of power starts here.

The ending result is you have men in a state of controlling power who also have poor education or a background of knowledge.

As its known human ignorance is a crippling folly for humanity, particularly when its propagated with power and control.

I thought they were all of the "other sheep" when that WT article came out about "helpers" in 1992...and most of the current GB were helpers when that WT came out...and it said all helpers are of the "other sheep" hence why the current lot cannot be the second generation in the overlapping malarky because none of them were anointed in 1992 because they were all helpers then and the WT said the helpers were of the other sheep.

Certain men of the WTS/JWS were self appointed by themselves for themselves to appeal toward power and an uplifted self identity, some of these people are now on the board of the WTS. as GB members.

    not surprising .

notsurewheretogo, there you go- not keeping up with the celestial chariot. Yeah, that's how I remembered it then too. And I would help you bring your thinking out of the 20th century into the 21st century as the light got brighter, but I don't keep up with the chariot either.

All I know is, somehow the helpers became replacement anointed for those that fell away. I think it works something like this: The G.B. notices a good kiss-ass "helper" and wants him on the G.B. because sooner-or-later, the old geezers die. They start suggesting he reexamine whether he is other sheep or anointed because Jehovah keeps telling the G.B. that this guy should be anointed. They are good kiss-asses, so of course they go along. Had they not, they would have been sent back to the "salt mines" of dishwashers and waiters and those that get printing ink all over their hands.

Gerrit Loesch has been anointed since the 1970s. I'm sure some of the others partook that far back too.

Sure in the video where Splane expalined the overlapping generation the example he used was Fred Franz overlapping with, who? Those anointed before 1992 when Franz died.

Antony Morris wasn't long back from Vietnam in 1975. In fact I don't think he was even a JW when the "Freedom of the Sons of God" book was published.
