In Bush's defence, Liz is notorious for her frugality. She has been known to save the Sunday roast leftovers for sandwiches. THAT's a British monarch?? Could you see King Henry VIII doing that??

Maybe Bush didn't want leftover black pudding sandwiches...

I guess we are doing ok as long as he doesn't piss on the queen . LOL I can see it now ,GW getting blasted at the palace forgets where he is and pisses on the queen while in her chambers thinking it's the laboratory . LMAO at GW sr. for throwing up on the emperor of japan .

Of course, if Charles the I had had the same kind of frugality, maybe he wouldn't have wound up hanging over Olly Cromwell's fireplace with an apple in his mouth...

I like the queen as a monarch, if you have to have one. She maintains an aura of respectability that eludes her younger relatives, and she's reliably dignified and polite. She sets a good example for all politicians to follow. However, I shudder to think what will happen when she kicks it and one of the younger set takes the throne. I don't know if they are up to it.

"Hey, if you can kibbutz about my President, I can talk about yo' queen!"

It started with Charlie forcing religious observances on others, that they didn't like. Perhaps the Governing Body should have a look at that fascinating chapter of history...

King George VII - you got a problem with him?? LOL Interesting how Charles doesn't want to be named after the guy who lost his head over some small matter...

Before becoming Prez, Bush was criticised for knowing nothing of the outside world. If he travels with 5 chefs, I'm willing to bet that he at least knows where Chateau Briand is!

    5 chefs:

    1 to take the order
    1 to grill the burger
    1 to do the salad
1 to put it in the box
1 to ask "do you want fries with that Mr President"

Authentic dishes from around the world served on a sesame seed bun with "Mc" stuck in front of it.

I actually spent a couple of days there with Her Ladyship. Chateau Briande is an old market town, and, yes, we did the steak thing.

Personally, I prefer ordinary rib-eye cooked rare with English mustard. Or horse-radish.
