Mike,
What is worrying is that it does not take a rocket scientist to work this one out but some do not seem to be able to join the dots. Perhaps it is easier to function in a world of comic book morality and ethics, you know when the Superhero gets battered but never shows a bruise and nobody ever seems to die. Life is not like that, people get hurt by words, perhaps even driven over the edge of what they can handle emotionally. How would we feel if our words drove a depressed soul over the edge of the jumping off point? I have seen this happen within the WTS, why do we feel it cannot happen on these Boards?
Growing up after living in the stunted WTS environment is not easy, but it is something we have to do to in order to survive. Stepping outside the WTS box and then building another little XJW one, this time with the loaded gun of freedom can be very dangerous to ourselves and those around us. If we find ourselves being hurt, it is time to step back and take care of the most important thing we have, our own lives.
I do find it easy to understand that the moral confusion that sets in when we leave the WTS, my God, we have all been through it, but what puzzles me beyond measure is those who have exited the WTS, perhaps many years ago and are past the point of pain and yet who hang around these Boards manipulating and using the emotions of those who are just out and still struggling with numerous emotional issues.
Now this scenario truly does stink of 'elders', 'Kingdom Hall's' and 'dublike thinking'.
