Do You Think Jehovah’s Witnesses Really Believe They Are Living In The Time Of The End?

I never thought the end was necessarily around the corner. I never preached 1975 and I would say no one knows the day or hour. I figured it would be easier to just use the Bible as a guide

I'm sure many do and I'm sure many are doubtful

I think there are a lot of people in that really don’t believe it hard-core. They stay in for various reasons hoping that things could be what they are supposed to believe in.

One thing for sure JWS will just about believe anything their chosen spokesmen from god (GB) tell them, their emotions and lack of knowledge from other sources, both theological and secular take over their cognitive awareness.

Thats why people who have weak critical thinking abilities are acceptable to cult indoctrination.

Simply look at how any particular JW is living. Do they appear to be living their personal lives as though they truly believe a catastrophic End of the World is imminent? Are they warning their family and neighbors day and night because they are fearful that all of these good but "worldly" people will soon die at Armageddon?

NO. The JWs here are building houses, taking exotic vacations, having babies, putting in "token" Field Circus hours and worrying about their 401(k) and pension plans. There is absolutely no urgency in their delivering God's message of Salvation (or Doom, or whatever the hell is it now). They stand idle at carts or sit chit-chatting at McDonalds or Starbucks with other JWs, all the while constantly watching their iphone to see if it's time to quit and head back to the Hall.

A better answer to this question might be each individual believes certain doctrines proportionately and varies in strength from one to another.

Yes, many JW's, when backed into a corner over flip-flopping doctrines, etc, will respond that "it's the closest thing to The Truth". Their CD kicks in when they realize they cannot realistically defend the flip-flops and obvious errors in doctrine, so they default to such "buzz lines" to get out of the uncomfortable situation.

It’s easier to simply NOT THINK for JWs. Just play follow the leader.

    Shameful!
