One little turkey for 20-24 people?

I heard she ordered a 30 pounder. Not exactly little. Doesn't matter anyway, I'm bringing four pumpkin pies. YUM

Stephanus, to most people Thanksgiving is the day before the Christmas buying rush. I am not a youngster so I remember what it used to mean. Friends and family, near and far, gather to celebrate all they have to be thankful for. Having loved ones with you for even a day is comforting and lets you know you belong to more than yourself. There are lots of hugs and "My, how you have grown" statements. Little children get to know aunts and uncles, cousins and new friends. The meal is set at the biggest table in the house with a smaller table set up for the children, who are served first,so the adults can enjoy undisterbed conversation. It dosent usually work that way, as the children dont want to miss anything but everyone eats and talks and laughs. Before the meal begins, a prayer is said thanking God for all blessings and the people gathered there. When all have had their fill the ladies clear the tables and put away the leftover food,do all the cleaning up and flop in chairs to rest and talk. Generally , about this time the men have waken from their naps and are ready for turkey sandwiches ! I hope this gives you an idea of what it is like. The whole meaning is to thank God for what He has given us.

If by the Thanksgiving thing you mean sitting down to a huge meal with my family and boyfriend, puking it all out, then going over to the boyfriends home so we can do it all over again with his family.

    Yep

Sphere - I am in full agreement with you. I totally dig Halloween, 4th of July, gobble gobble day is ok too...but I don't know about X-mas. The radio stations overplay X-mas music, the pressure to buy gifts, the commercials on tv, santa....AAAACCCKKK!!!!! The lights are pretty tho....
