$2500 for 3 TVs? Are they 98" or so? Tell your congregation to contact a local installer, they'll do it for half the cost.

LOL. No, two are rather small 52", and the third one for what used to be the second school room (which is closed and locked at the meetings start by one of the self-righteous menstrual serpents) will only be a 32". They are giving the money to the branch, and the branch will send the TV's to be installed by a lumbering overweight, wheezing old goat on the "new and improved" LDC.

Someone, somewhere is raking in money off this deal! The sad thing about it is that 99% of the 40-45 regulars are on fixed income after retirement or disability. Money grubbing leeches ought to be whipped and driven out of the temple (KH)

Why do they lock old second school room up? To stop the smokers or the druggies escaping into it out of the way or just bitchy sisters stopping the practise of mothers with young children going in there to reduce any crying noise, anything to make it hard for young parents, their own fault for having children might be the view of these "menstrual serpents"

What happens if that amount is not sent one month, are they then in the red?

Well this happened to our congregation recently. Elders brought a gazebo for shade while cart witnessing, new carts and some kh maintaince. Using the donated money, but it meant that month we sent under our monthly branch payment. What happened? We had read out to us from the stage a very rude letter from the branch telling that we need to make sure that we meet our monthly payments, making sure our yes means yes etc. Absolutely no sign of Christian forgiveness from them because we couldn't find enough money for that month. Disgusting.

I know of an elderly female pioneer that lost her husband and her only source of income . Now she has had to put her little house in to a reverse mortgages program so she can have enough money just to pay her bills.

I also know a JW that has a auto repair shop. He has had to fix more then one pioneer or single sisters car for free because they didn't have any money to pay for the needed repairs. Another JW family had him repair thier car but when it came time to pay they delayed because they had spent the money to send the wife to Hawaii so she could be at the regional convention with her family. They finally paid but it took awhile.

Ah, the covetous, freeloading JW economy. Giving a freebie would work if the group is overall well educated and employed. Having a reputation for giving freebies to a group of underemployed and undereducated leeches who've come to expect it will put you in bankruptcy.

    CRAZYGUY and SCHNELL:

Regarding the brother with the auto body shop fixing pioneers and single sisters' cars for free because they have no money: I have some comments on this.

While I can understand him being annoyed at being targeted to give freebies:....If those said single sisters did favors for everybody in the hall, including HIM, he BETTER fix their car for free!!...Everybody in the God Damned Kingdom Hall probably targeted these single sisters to do favors - and nobody ever gave a rats ass about the welfare of the women they were targeting!!!

Sadly, these gullible sisters either felt pressured, felt this made them look "more spiritual" (what a crock of shit)...OR wanted to be invited to special gatherings. If they never got a decent job or career or never married, they ended up impoverished.

I totally REJECTED this route of pioneering, poverty and doing favors the Witness religion was holding out for single women, and, as a result, they hated me for it!....Good. I'm retired now and happily out of the religion.

Fair point. The sisters give of their time and even their money to help out wherever they can. My family certainly benefited from the sisters helping my mom while my dad was on his deathbed, and I benefited when I got probably the cheapest wedding I could have hoped for without just going to court. None of that came without a cost to someone, large or small.

How are the JW's any different than the Jews in Jesus day? SOMEBODY BETTER HAVE AN ANSWER!

    Reply....*crickets*

Simply put: They are not. I noticed it almost immediately when I began to study. But I was the crazy psychotic one.. Peace out Jdub land.

I had a chat with a MS friend of mine about it. Was interesting.

First of all I need to correct the amount. It was $500 NOT the larger amount i said at the start. Not sure where i got that. Sorry for the misinformation.

Anyway, this MS friend said (he would know as he did the finances for our hall for a while) the branch comes of with an arbitrary amount based on the number of publishers. This includes children who are publishers...meaning no income at all. He is rather disgruntled about the whole thing and said he was going to vote against it but was indisposed at the moment.

I said "why would you bother? it's a done deal the minute a motion is put forth".

He said "it's a principle he feels strongly about". He said, "they should base their expected donation on working adults and not pensioners and kids".
