I suggest the Grand Canyon. I suggest between Nov and March, before the weather gets extremely hot in the S.W. -

Florida Keyes maybe? -

Some wonderful places to see in the United States that are safe: Pacific Coast Highway near Big Sur and the Redwood forests. Just paradise and beautiful.
The Florida Keys are insanely beautiful and Key West is tame from what it used to be.
Newport, Rhode Island is a gem of a place. Beautiful island with old world flare, beaches in the summer, 19th Century mansions you can take a tour of that are castles really, great food. Just beautiful.
Mount Desert Island in Maine. Sublime.
The White Mountains of New Hampshire are wonderful. Great food and accommodations in North Conway, New Hampshire.
Stowe, Vermont is great. And you can go to Ben & Jerry's and get ice cream samples!

Mad Irishman, Mount Desert and Bar Harbour was my suggestion, too. It's beautiful, and I would feel okay travelling there alone.
If you are driving, those states, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire are small, and you could plan a great trip if you drive.
NYC is awesome, but expensive. I am sure people here, would be most helpful in advice - ie, safe means of transport (cab, subway or bus?), where to stay, etc. There are things in NYC, that make it a 'must-see'.
Loving the Carolinas, too, and W. Virginia - just stay at a Best Western or better, and talk to the locals. People are so friendly.
Las Vegas - just don't get drunk, and you will be fine. Accommodations and cheap food, great shows, and the casinos are amazing to see for the first time. It's true - there are NO clocks in casinos. People forget the time when they are gambling.
LA - Manhattan Beach, home of many surfers, and another great city. You need to drive if visiting CA.
PS. Been to all those places, I want to go to TEXAS. Lots of apostates there, and it's an incredible place, or so I've heard. xx

Why not visit Brooklyn Bethel, the worldwide headquarters of God's earthly organization. I hear it's lovely there. Err, I mean lonely there!

The barrier islands of Maryland and Virginia, including Assateague Island where they have wild ponies! Chincoteague, VA has their annual pony roundup in July every year. It's really unique and you can bid on a pony if you have a barn for him at home.
Also the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Never been, but I want to go. Wild and natural and lots of lighthouses.
Peaks Island, Maine is a small, bikeable island just off the coast of Portland and only accessible by ferry. There's a road around the perimeter of the island with hedgerows of wild rows growing between the road and the sea. Biking heaven. No hotels, though. You have to rent a cottage. Rocky shores, though. No sandy beaches like farther south.

That should be: hedgerows of wild roses. You can get beautiful photos of the roses with the ocean and lighthouses in the background. Lighthouses all over the place there, too. -

The White Mountains of New Hampshire are wonderful. - Mad Irishman
Why didn't I think of that...........I pioneered in the area and I live within driving distance? Pinkham Notch, Crawford Notch and Evans Notch. You haven't lived until you explore the beauty of the White Mountains.
