He was in our Hall. I knew his whole family and they were all Witnesses. This guy always had a frown on his face. He never looked happy. He always seemed Pissed off. Today he told me how HAPPY he and his family were. He looked great. He smiled about his current life and his future plans with vacations and retirement. He recognized his entire family were hypocrites and simply decided to stay away from their dysfunctional lives.

I have to say, he was like a new man!!! Bravo for him getting out in time to enjoy himself!!!👍👍👍

I can relate to that. Someone told me that they had heard we had missed a lot of meetings lately. I told him that he had been misinformed -- we hadn't missed any of them.

This sounds so very familiar because when my husband and I got married, my parents said our marriage wouldn't last five years. Then my mother repeated it again when I informed her that my husband and I were leaving the JWs. She said, Now that you no longer have Jehovah in your life your marriage will fall apart before the year is up." That was over 18 years ago, and my husband and I have been happily married for 26 years this year. The ironic part is that we actually got happier after leaving because we were free to be who we really are.

EVERY JW I know of that left the religion appears to be happier than not.

That is because this religious cult is about death, oppression , exploitation, manipulation and corruption which creates anxiety, fear, guilt and shame within people. 🙁

It does seem to me as well that everybody who leaves the JW religion is happier.

Also, what happened to most of us there did not happen overnight but took time. Little by little our boundaries got eroded and they got us to tolerate things that we never would have tolerated on day one and in fact would have made us head for the door.
