Phone witnessing and the Year Book

When the “Year Book” is published online next year, and the number of new baptisms is roughly the same as it always is, how are they going to deny that their new “converts” are nothing more than born-in kids of witnesses or already “captive” family and friends?

The “billions” of hours of service are at best pointless and ineffective and at worse often fabricated.

    What say you?

Interesting explanation they give selling kingdom halls in western world cause there's so much increase in africa ;-) But they don't show any photos or statics of all new KH in africa.

Good point. It's hard to say how the hours will be affected. I know that for some their service time has gone up with it being easier. But then again they recently announced that ALL publishers were eligible to only report 15 minutes, which would indicate some are slacking off. Maybe they'll balance each other out? We'll see.

I cant see how their hours can go up if they are letter writing. They will have the same text for each letter, so all they have to do is print it, address the envelope, and post it. Takes no time at all.

That's what you know. My experience is that a break-out group sits for an hour composing 1 letter with one person doing the typing. So maybe six or seven people count that time so 1 letter=7 hours. They then scrap that template and start a new one next time. A complete waste of time and life.

if it takes one hour to compose and type up one letter--thats one hour of service.

then print off 10 copies...thats 10 x the original hour.

    easy way to pioneer.

( which is more productive than ten hours spent knocking doors when there's no-one at home )

    Au contraire mon ami.

First they need to zoom in at 8:45 A.M. to visit, drink coffee and at 9:00 A.M. have their "meeting" for serve-us and get the days marching orders. Then they need to yak with each other for maybe twenty or thirty minutes about how many letters they have written, are writing, and going to write. Then go to the kitchen and get another cup of coffee. Then read the letter that they wrote months ago and have been running off on the copier, just to refresh their memory. Then make the first copy for the morning. Then re-read it and sign it. Then print the envelope. Then get a second cup of coffee. Then put the postal stamp on the letter. Then yak some more for "break" with their zoom group. Then repeat the entire process two or three more times. By then it is noon. Grab a sandwich and go to the post office to place it in the mail. Go home. 1:00 o'clock and an easy four hours serve-us time.

Good point. Hadn't thought about that. Will be interesting to see what the numbers turn out to be.

It is easy to do time these days. Copy, address, stamp. Mail repeat. Easy hours no walking, no knocking, no talking.

The USPS has a program called “every door direct mail”. Or EDDM. Many businesses and some churches use this to get their message out. Pizza places, nail shops, and churches who are offering special services, for example, Easter services. If the KH used this, they could cover every door in town in no time at all. That is, if their message is really “important “ and “life saving”.
