Well, the typical person doesn't have to worry about field service and reporting time. So why should I have to?

When I left one thing that got me about counting the hours I spent out in field service was that I wasn't getting paid for those hours. All the money I spent came out of my own pocket. Then I became slightly irritated about the days I didn't want to go out because I was exhausted, my mom forced me to, and I was an adult at the time.

Well it has just been announced in the UK that they are no longer allowed to collect data in the ministry due to govt. legislation. Makes it harder to entice the unwary.

On another thought, I always felt handing in a field service report is not scriptural. Can anyone think of Jesus and his disciples carrying a piece of scroll around and recording their hours so they would be worthy of extra privileges?

Turning in field service time is not scriptural. It is a way for WT to gauge your "spirituality" (all the JW tasks you do). There a so many JW's who fudge their numbers. Even the Elders do it. We witnessed this in our last congregation. It's all about the hours and how you appear to other JW's.

    But... but...

...shouldn't they obey God as ruler rather than men...?

Isn't everything the WT leadership tells us to do Biblical, simply by definition of being God's Earthly Organization?

Therefore, isn't keeping D2D ministry records Biblical???

I don't know what to believe anymore!

    Auggghhhhhh!!!

In one of the last "arms waving like loons" live-acting convention dramas (before videos took over), about 4-5 years ago, they had a first century "elder" sitting at a table tabulating some sort of "report" about the "ministry" being done.

    I ship you not.

    Does anyone else remember that?

I also remember that one of the WTS publication pictures showed scrolls being used at meetings and and door to door. Wow, I thought, if that isn't adding to the bible!

I didn't know they don't have the dramas anymore, so they don't wave their arms like loons on the videos I guess, must've hired an acting coach, the same one that prepped the guy on the deaf video about yanking your crank.

I think that sums it up succinctly.

I remember that sir82. That was the last regional convention I ever attended. I could not believe the hubris and down right arrogance in using 'poetic license' to create such a stupid scenario.
