Come on now, Simon. Just about anyone can point and click, and drag and drop schemas -- and change database designs nearly on the fly.
Real programmers use unix, vi, and of course, real databases like Oracle .
not so ugly to you

Perhaps you should take a leaf out of your supervisor's book and shun your computer...
I always resort to books or manuals ... However, One_ sounds like he would be willing and able to help ... call him.
OMG... so that is where they got those names from.
lol

woo hoo! vi rocks. I just need to find a version for my commodore vic-20.
I started with Oracle in '97, but changed over to MSSQL in '99
I used to have some e-Ref's for programming in it (v7, but it should still hold true).
I'll see if I can find them, but can't promise anything.
I hated the Form designer - it had no snap to grid, back then.
You may not like how the oracle works, but she does know how to bake a mean batch of cookies:

hash?
Wow... so that's why your nephew likes to come over. You bake lots of goodies... lol
Well I feel your pain. I imploded a database (dropped the whole thing instead of just one table) but since the diagnostic still says it's "function properly" (even thought I can't communicate with it at all) I don't get any tech support. Oh and I don't have the permissions to reacreate it myself.
