    re. pale.emperor's OP...

All the veiled (and not-so-veiled) threats and solicitation sure make it hard to argue with.

Further begs the question: "Why would the Org be fighting for its survival if its survival were not at risk?"

"Surely there is ample evidence to show that you can trust the channel that Jehovah has used for nearly a hundred years now."

There is so much wrong with that statement. First, to them it's not even questioned that they are the channel; they don't say "there is ample that we are the channel;" they say "there is ample that you can trust the channel." So, again, they don't even allow for any doubt that they are the channel; the doubt is as to whether we trust the channel. They first need to provide ample evidence that they are the channel; then provide evidence that we can trust the channel.

Secondly, so there is ample evidence that we can trust the channel? Really? In their 100-plus year history, what evidence is there? If there is ample evidence, then I'd like to know of at least some of it, and I should know, but I can't I think of any. If it's ample, then it ought to be readily available... obvious. Actually, I see ample evidence that the JW GB is not the channel, and, in fact, I see no evidence of any channel at all.

    addendum:

So, is part of the evidence the piles of literature that have been produced over the decades? Evidently not, since they're trying to hide the existence of a lot of it. Is it the preaching/warning work? Evidently not since it's mostly shown JWs to be wrong as they've made numerous predictions and warned the world, and nothing has happened. Also, the preaching has been largely inefficient, wasteful, and ineffective...and actually even embarrassing to some extent. JW history is filled with false prophecy, looney teachings, inaccuracies, embarrassments, scandal, etc. It certainly doesn't provide ample evidence that the JW big boys are some kind of channel chosen directly by an all-everything good supernatural being.

PALE EMPEROR- Great thread. Thanks for posting it. Very interesting quotes. I agree- we smell fear within the leadership of the WT Society now for sure.

This quote I thought was particularly revealing and exposing - " Do not be " quickly shaken from your reason " when faced with what appear to be damaging attacks by apostates or other such deceivers of the mind - HOWEVER PLAUSIBLE THEIR CHARGES MAY SEEM. " And that's the catch phrase here- WT Society is ADMITTING ever so slightly that some of these negative charges against them may seem to be valid, accurate, may seem to be plausible or even make sense - but then they tell JW's to turn off their minds and dismiss it as a " deception " .

These are thought stopping techniques that all mind control cults use to get their members to DISOWN their own minds and reasoning - then hand their mind over to the WT Society on a silver platter. And of course this WT article blames it on " Satan " if any JW's HAVE doubts about these negative charges brought against WT leaders - then JW's start doubting their own reasoning thinking- " oh my god, Satan is making me have these doubts and lack of trust in the GB ! " It's such an evil and insidious way of controlling and manipulating JW people it's disgusting. Yet unfortunately it works on those whose brains are turned off.

Stay tuned- I feel we will see more fear mongering from WT leaders this summer at these District conventions. The fear is amping up indeed

"What is propaganda? In this context, it is the use of biased or misleading information to manipulate the way people think and act. Some equate propaganda with “lies, distortion, deceit, manipulation, mind control, [and] psychological warfare” and associate it with “unethical, harmful, and unfair tactics.”Propaganda and Persuasion." 7-15-17 WT

The "unfair tactics" that "Apostates" use are often merely quoting what the "Channel" has published.

The apostle Paul was spearheading the Christian missionary activity. He was also laying a foundation for a work that would be completed in our twentieth century. (w1989 1/1 12)

At least that is what the original copy of the magazine said. Then in the bound volume we read:

The apostle Paul was spearheading the Christian missionary activity. He was also laying a foundation for a work that would be completed in our day.

So which one do I trust? No admission or acknowledgement of the change, just magically changed. Did they hope no one noticed?

That is not propaganda but just another example of the audaciousness of their supposed authority. One need not listen to propaganda, just listen to them! Over time there words will show their falsehood.

Mt 12:37 for by your words you will be declared righteous, and by your words you will be condemned.”

"Surely there is ample evidence to show that you can trust the channel that Jehovah has used for nearly a hundred years now."

Anyone who knows their history knows that a over a hundred years ago they were saying the end was just around the corner and they as Gods direct channel, provided various bible based reasonings as to why specific dates were significant. Scaring people away from outside sources is one sure fire way of keeping them in the dark about how untrustworthy they really are. This tactic has worked so far but little by little as people see these mistakes taking place within their own lifetime, there are now resources that are easily available for them to investigate. I believe they're hearing reports from all over the world about people leaving because of what they've found out about the organization and they're scared.

If I was in charge of a cult and was being exposed as a fraud I'd probably tell them beforehand that they're about to hear lies about me and not to believe it.

id also tell them that we're so close to the end now... and maybe hold a convention called Don't Gibe Up!

The success of the WTS/GB in the past was Information Control. It was primarily DF and shunning that kept shit-disturbers from convincing others about their discovery of TTATT. "Banning" any "negative" literature from non-WT sources helped as well.

Today, thanks to the internet, "knowledge is abundant" (ironic quote). They cannot control it. Many, many JWs are waiting until everyone is asleep and they are sneaking into their home offices or dens while their lights are all dimmed and they are -- NOT looking at porn, as depicted in the WT -- they are looking at GOOGLE and what information is available to read about Jehovah's Witnesses from NON-JW sources.

We all know that is a Pandora's Box!

One could now say the Watchtower Corporation now is that its gone into fear mongering to protect their own fear mongering.

"...begs the question: 'Why would the Org be fighting for its survival if its survival were not at risk?'..."

Or to put it simpler: "Why would the Org be afraid if there wasn't a reason for it to be?"
