I wonder about this for a long time then one day I was watching something on TV were some tribe measured time by the number of moons they saw. That turned on a light bulb in my head and i started to divide 12 into those large numbers the Bible brought out. It did make a little more sense to me. I am not saying this idea is exact but it does put a little perspective to the subject. Still Totally ADD

Back in the day we were taught that man's longevity was due to the canopy of water around the Earth which filtered out harmful cosmic rays, which is what eventually kills us.

This bubble of water is what fell during the flood. The protection was gone. Immediately after the flood, men's life span reduced dramatically.

I think maybe the dinosaurs died in the flood too.

Less than half as long as Gandalf, who roamed Middle Earth for 2,019 years.

So how long is a generation? Don't let the WT writers loose on this. If they start quoting Methuselah et al we are in deep doo doo. This may be the longest "last days" imaginable.

607 'till the present day say 3 generations? Aaargghh!

At least as long as Hercules, but much less than Thor.

As long as any other mythical figure, so...

...as long as you want, pretty much. :smirk:

How long did people like Methuselah really live?

Considering how short life spans were back then..

45 years probably seemed like 900..

Maybe more if your wife was driving you crazy......LOL!!!..

    Damn, I'd forgotten about that.

Looking back, I think learning in school about the evidence for the short life expectancy of ancient humans might have been the first taste of cognitive dissonance I ever actually experienced.
