@ respectful observer - Malta is saturated with foreigners from EU and eastern European countries since joining the EU several years ago - especially Serbians. (I know, they're not in the EU. Don't ask!)
So it can be seen from the org's wording that they are not looking for foreign language speaking JW's to help convert the immigrants, but rather, to tackle the serious lack/decline in the native Maltese JW numbers.

The Society always has bragged they aren’t like Christendom passing money plates around. These types of forms that get passed around are much worse, you are making a monthly commitment. Factor in how the Society has encouraged ones to donate their stocks, bonds, homes, land, 401k, jewelry, literally any asset and you can see its crystal clear they are 100 times worse than Christendom passing money plates around.
The buildings are designed to be flipped ( sold off in a decade or two ) so the whole dog and pony show is financed ( through tax exemptions and mostly free labour ) and just continues indefinitely. So you would expect them to be reasonably well built & designed.
But the Society do overdo the hyperbole about these buildings. Likening seeing the building site in Essex to the Queen Of Sheba seeing Solomon's temple and his wealth is probably pushing things a wee bit! I recently saw the Millau Viaduct in France - O M G! The new UK Bethel is just a tin shed compared to the sheer complexity and genius in such a structure.

It's really disgusting how WT does money-grab-drives like this on such a regular basis. It's no wonder why soo many turn to atheism after leaving this cult!
Discrete tithing has come to the JW organization.
Its not so surprising being that the WTS has been selling a false commercialized Gospel for decades through its literature publications..
