    Hi friends,

Can somebody please help me locate a recent thread that dealt with shunning of family members and the policy double standard, e.g. JW.borg explanation that the family relationship is unchanged and the recent daily text that suggested that we should shun them.

Tried searching but could not find it.

    Thanks RB

    "Monday, January 14
    Discipline . . . is painful.
    —Heb. 12:11.
Despite our pain of heart, we must
avoid normal contact with a dis-
    fellowshipped family member by
    telephone, text messages, letters,
e-mails, or social media. Yet, main-
tain hope. Love “hopes all things,”
including that those who have left
Jehovah will come back to him.
(1 Cor. 13:7) If you see evidence
that a close family member is hav-
ing a change of heart, you could pray
that he or she gain strength from
the Scriptures and respond to Jeho-
vah’s appeal: “Return to me.” (Isa.
44:22) Jesus said that if we were to
put any human before him, we would
not be worthy of him. Yet, he was
    confident that his disciples would
have the courage to maintain their
loyalty to him despite family opposi-
tion. If following Jesus has brought
“a sword” into your family, rely on
Jehovah to help you deal with the
    challenges successfully. (Isa. 41:10,
    13) Find joy in knowing that Jeho-
vah and Jesus are pleased with you
and that they will reward your faith-
    ful course. w17.10 16 ̊19-21"

This refers to Watchtower 2017, October, Study edition P.16, par. 19:

"19 Respect the discipline of Jehovah. His
arrangement can bring the best long-
term outcome for all, including the
    wrongdoer, even though the immedi-
ate effect is painful. (Read Hebrews
    12:11.) For example, Jehovah instructs
us to “stop keeping company” with un-
    repentant wrongdoers. (1 Cor. 5:11-13)
Despite our pain of heart, we must
avoid normal contact with a disfellow-
    shipped family member by telephone,
text messages, letters, e-mails, or social
    media."

BUT: Clip from the Supreme Court of Canada Case on November 2, 2017 involving the Jehovah's Witness Organization vs. Randy Wall. What the WT-Org lawyer says is an utter lie. Watch this:

I just remembered this post from about 3 months ago: "They would Stone us if the law would allow"
by ElderEtta, where Paul Grundy (author of jwfacts.com) had dug up this gem of Watchtower:

"Being limited by the laws of the worldly nation in which we live and also by the laws of God through Jesus Christ, we can take action against apostates only to a certain extent, that is, consistent with both sets of laws. The law of the land and God's law through Christ forbid us to kill apostates, even though they be members of our own flesh-and-blood family relationship. However, God's law requires us to recognize their being disfellowshiped from his congregation, and this despite the fact that the law of the land in which we live requires us under some natural obligation to live with and have dealings with such apostates under the same roof. Satan's influence through the disfellowshiped member of the family will be to cause the other member or members of the family who are in the truth to join the disfellowshiped member in his course or in his position toward God's organization. To do this would be disastrous, and so the faithful family member must recognize and conform to the disfellowship order. How would or could this be done while living under the same roof or in personal, physical contact daily with the disfellowshiped? In this way: By refusing to have religious relationship with the disfellowshiped." Watchtower1952 Nov 15 p.703

@ At 1 hour 13 mins 26 secs – “Jehovah's Witnesses do not use the word 'shun' or 'shunning.' Disfellowshipping literally means “no further spiritual fellowship with the individual. The nature of the relationship then of a disfellowshipped person is not completely shunned, they can still attend the KH etc.; as far as their family members are concerned, normal family relations continue, with the exception of spiritual fellowship.”

@ 4 hrs 11 mins 35 secs - “If a JW doesn't agree with certain things, they can walk away and start their own religion – or from within the congregation they can try to share their different thinking with others. Perhaps their beliefs will resonate with others in the congregation.”

The GB are the ultimate religious hypocrites on the scene today.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people's bones and all uncleanness. ~ Matt. 23:27

Amiable atheist, I remember seeing that clip. That man is a liar and knows he's lying, he should be ashamed that he got up in front of the court and tried to deceive them, what a bold witness he gave. What difference does it make if someone can 'come into the congregation and sit wherever they like,' how does that relate to shunning.

That man is a liar and knows he's lying,

I prefer to look at what he says as "NEW LIGHT".

Consider the facts -- He is an official spokesman for the WTS, speaking under oath, speaking for the Branch and GB of JWs -- his words are the most recent "official statement" on the WT procedure of dealing with DF family members and the sworn testimony is: DISFELLOWSHIPPING ONLY LIMITS SPIRITUAL ASSOCIATION.

    There ya have it!

No need to totally shun DF family members!

Show it to your JW family. They surely have no reason to disobey the New Light.

Someone recently posted on Facebook that the WT has recently stated that JWs can talk with DFd or DAd family members as long as they don't discuss religion.

    Is this true?

    Can anyone document this?

Is this clip what they were talking about?

JWS are indoctrinated ( brainwashed ) by order to lie if necessary to protect the image of the organization, Jah's earthly arrangement.

That's why even a GB member recently said in court under oath when asked if the JWS organization is solemnly and uniquely chosen by god ,

........he said " Well that would be presumptuous ".

He essentially denied that proclamation which has been propagated by the leaders of the WTS for decades.
