When my mother became ill with dementia and aging the pioneers were nowhere to be found, too busy wasting gas and bugging people that don't want to be bugged. At one point there were a couple different pioneer sisters that lived with her rent free and might have cooked a dinner once a week for her But then on top of that she has to pay for a part time caregiver to take her to the store and errands. Everyone was "stretched thin" as my uber elder cousin and wife told me. Yeah right while they are traveling the world with their Bethelite daughter and son in law. So hypocritical!

Oh and I'm disfellowshipped and have been shunned for over 40 years but they decided it was now my responsibility to care for my mother. Nope didn't happen. Oh and she left her estate to the Watchtower and nothing more me.

    LYNNIE:

Sadly, that’s about the size of it in the Witness religion. You have my condolences.

An elderly sister (or brother) very often can end up being preyed upon by other JWs there.. This can be the end result of too much togetherness and everybody knowing your business.. If anybody is offended by me saying this, TOO bad about them.. What’s even more sad is this doesn’t have to happen - but since these elderly Witnesses have been instructed to shun their children who are ‘out’ of the religion - they have nobody sincere to look in on them and shield them from worthless OPPORTUNISTS in the hall!!!

This is the reality of what can go on there. To add insult to injury, the elderly JW who probably gave so much $$ to the religion might have imagined that this was a material protection for them and that the JWs would care for them, etc.. This is a very sad joke and they have been deceived.. The so-called worldly relatives long shunned are sought after to do this burdensome task.
