I just watched The Matrix with my daughter a couple weeks ago (first time she'd seen it).
She actually said, "so that's where that comes from..."

It is really apt, though...
...picking up my balls and actually allowing myself to see what the other side had to say (particularly with regards to the child abuse thing) definately felt like "taking the red pill".
Although I do concede that by that time, it was more a case of confirming what I'd already come to suspect.
