I haven't seen windows on a Kingdom Hall since 1987. I thought they were to have none to keep insurance rates down.

This is exactly the architectural abomination that the Witnesses in my area recently got. Only their new hall is built in a rural area on a back road beside a sand pit.

All for resale options -- they have free contributors/labor/land so might as well experiment with new design/development and flip when/if the attendance plummets. More win/win.

Is it just me? That is one depressing building.

Looks like a municipal branch library from 1955.

Sparky1- this is the new design for all kingdom halls so yes, most likely identical to the one you're talking about.

This is fake news. We have been told the wt has collapsed. They simply cannot be constructing new buildings.

Well I haven't heard of many kingdom halls being built anywhere. I don't think I've read anywhere someone proclaiming it has collapsed. It has stagnated big time and as a result not much construction is going on. The ONLY reason this one is being constructed is because the congregation currently meets in a community hall within a trailer park so they are basically being forced to build it.

They may not even be windows in the sense you can see thru them. The place that I work has these large black windows - that aren't. They just look like they are, so that the building doesn't look like a cement lego.

Yea they just built 2 of that same design in our area here in central Californication!. They are constructed out of dense foam blocks that fit together like legos. Then filled with concrete. Cheap to build, great insulation, R50, and easier to sell to a commercial concern. They sure as hell don't look like a place of worship!

    just saying!
