I think its a terrible idea. If you do that, you are just as bad as the JW's...shouldn't you strive to be above all of that nonsense?

My "worldly" stepmom quietly checks with me to make sure she does not offend my JW honey through the Christmas season. She also checks on everybody's allergies and food preferences for Christmas dinner. She makes sure there are kid-friendly treats as well as exotic goodies for the adults. She is just that way.
Thoughtful of everybody.
I want to be like her.

Good replies. I thought it about it some more. Now that I am not angry I am going to skip sending Xmas cards. It just pisses me off that my mom will send holiday looking cards to the kids every year a month before and "Thinking of You" cards just before their birthdays. Sounds really hypocritical to me, but maybe I'm just angry about the whole situation.
