The Watchtower Organization is making itself harder with each passing day, to buying into their doctrines... What's there to believe in anymore? I'm not feeling it!

Thank you for sharing about yourself. I'd like to ask you, then what do you believe in? I understand the disappointment and other feelings that have left you where you are, but have you though about "what now"? Are you ok in the state where you are?

I went through the same thinking as you. I didn't become an atheist overnight. When i was first mentally out i still believed in Jehovah but not in the organization. In my judicial i even told the elders that i believe in god but i don't know who or where he is. Or even if it's a she or they!

Then i read the bible on it's own (not the New World Bastardization, a real translation like the NIV). I highlighted all the scriptures i thought were upbuilding one colour, and highlighted scriptures i wanted to understand better in another colour. Pretty soon i started to see contradiction, illogical things, a cruel desert god meting out harsh punishments for petty things and then started to believe that the god of the bible either doesn't exist or is a massive c*nt.

After much research with an open mind and critical thought im now an atheist and immeasurably happier. It's not easy at first but it gets better and leaving the org is the best thing you ever did sir.

I never understood why Elders had to step down if the kid makes a boo boo. I equate it to taking a parents drivers license away from the parent when the kid has a DUI. It makes NO/Zero sense. Like most WT crap, it make no sense. You weren't even home when your son fornicated. We have watched the favortism as well over the years. It's all about who you know and how much money you have.

I don't know how ones who are PIMO do it. I know so many who are stuck due to family in. It has to be draining! I really feel for you. I hope you can escape soon, it sounds like it is taking a toll. Hang in there!

I don't know what my next move is. That's scares me. How can some things I was shown from the Bible be so wrong? Maybe we all have to work out our own salvation.

1 Corn. 5:10 has become my favorite scripture, "We will be now for the good or the bad we do now"...

Maybe, just take a long break and focus on helping those in my community, like the Methodist's Do.

On a side note speaking of Jesus coming quickly, I would chuckle when we read "just a little while longer the wicked one will be no more" how is something written 3000 years ago a little while longer?! Well, frankly I do "deny" (or at least doubt) the miracles that Jesus supposedly did. At least until such time as you can provide me with some historic evidence. Just imagine......a man is resurrected among 100s of mourners, but nothing is reported about it in the "Bethany Tabloids" or "The Jerusalem Times". Oh yeah, I forgot, history doesn't report it in its effort to discredit Christianity. Right. You can keep the lid on the news about dead people (who already stink) coming back to life.

I don't doubt that a man called Jesus walked the earth in the 1st Century. I realize that there has been a tremendous influence on the World as a result of the religion that bears his name. That is all in recorded history. Raising the dead? Healing the blind? Controlling the weather? OK. Those things could have been missed or glossed over. Virgin birth. Yeah, that still happens today.

But turning water into good wine with 100s (or perhaps 1000s) of gallons left over for celebrants to take home? THAT WOULD MAKE HISTORY!

James jack, you are at the beginning of the healing process , one day when it finally dawns on you that you were Jw clergy class who religiously misled sheep with JW doctrine, it will scare you to the core knowing that some will waste their whole life on a religious lie . It's this conscience that turns people into avid apostates .

There is no justice in the Jw judicial process, kids have killed themselves after JC . I can hear the pain as to the injustices toward you , but think of the lowly publishers that got shafted in various ways , told to marry only in the lord which meant sisters never having children, male bread winners convinced not to further education , children not enjoying competitive sports , the list is endless.

As to Christian love, don't attend meetings for a while and tell me how many friends you have, you will find solace on this forum welcome.

I've said that often. And, it should be the other way around; if they have the truth, then as the alleged end approaches, it should be more and more obvious that they have it.

Hi James Jack. As your experience shows. It doesn't matter how high you jump in this organisation. Rules must be followed according to the book of GB.

It's extraordinary how someone of your stature can be cast aside as an elder at the drop of a hat.

The Societies rules are smothering people's faith. Their endless rules have smothered mine.

All the best to you and your family. I hope you manage to keep your faith in God and not allow men's rules to get in the way. Thanks for sharing your experience.
