This is Weston super Mare beach in the winter!
The taller square building on the left is WSM College where Her Ladyship teaches.

This beach is very close to our house. My boys used to go fishing from the marina in the background. Our house is behind the top of the hill. This is low tide, and the water is FREEZING all year round. Only little kids, "born without heat sensors", go into this water. In the summer, it is real popular for picnics and beach parties. Kids love to go to the beach here.

Great topic for this time of year! Had not heard of several of the beaches mentioned.
One I do know and love is in Makena, Maui. Big Beach and "little beach" (clothing optional - yikes!) The picture below does not do it justice. I have been there when the waves were gentle like in the picture below, AND when a single wave was big enough to span the entire cove - 10-15ft!!
Another place that had wonderful beaches was Eleuthera, Bahamas. The Club Med (not sure if its still there) had a wonderful pink sand beach with great waves for body surfing, boogie boarding etc.
We will try and post some pics from Maui over the holidays.

Jerry that picture didn't work.
I have a feeling I'm going to end up with a favorite beach on Maui before long but here is Linda Mar beach in Pacifica, less than a mile from my home. I jog up and down this beach a couple of times a week. Fun running in the sand.
