    Do Witnesses fulfill Matthew 24:14?

    Do Witnesses fulfill Matthew 24:14?

    (youtube video link above)

It might be true that Jehovah’s Witnesses have tried to fulfill Jesus words in Matthew 24:14 expending themselves each year in the preaching of the good news nevertheless this is nothing more than a self-fulfilling prophecy. What is missing here is the actual commissioning from God to do such a work.Back in the first century when these words of Jesus found their first fulfillment, the disciples and all those present in the upper room in Pentecost 33 C.E. were commissioned by the unmistakable presence of the holy spirit to perform such a fit. Even more importantly the commissioning of Jesus to act as the appointed preacher of the Kingdom of God it had it starts on the day of his baptism in 29 C.E when the holy spirit anointed him to do such a work. The holy spirit commissioned Jesus to preach for 3 ½ years (For more information look Did Jehovah pour his holy spirit in 1919?).

The reader should have in mind that this preaching of the good news of Matthew 24:14 was a sign of the end and should not be confused with the command that Jesus left with his disciples in Matthew 28:19 :

    mat2819

The mission of each believing Christian since the departure of the Lord 2,000 years ago is to make disciples and followers for Jesus but this has nothing to do with the sign of the end of Matthew 24:14.These are two different commissions and should not be confused.

If then the door to door ministry performed by the Jehovah’s Witnesses for the past 120 years or so isn’t the second fulfillment of Matthew 24:14, then what is it?

In order to answer this question, we need to look in the last book of Revelation. This is the only place where a preaching of the good news prophesied for the last days and commissioned by God himself is mentioned in detail for the first and the last time as a sign of the end.In Revelation 11:3 we read :

    rev 113

    [caption id="attachment_1148" align="alignright" width="300"]2 witnesses The Witnesses of Revelation[/caption]

Please notice that these two witnesses are not self-appointed as the governing body of Jehovah’s Witnesses that is currently “spearheading” the false preaching of the good news in all the earth. No, these two witnesses will be appointed by Jehovah himself. As in the day of Pentecost 33 C.E. this appointment will be confirmed by all observers by the holy spirit with signs that no one will be in a position to refute.

It remains to be seen whether Jehovah will bring to an end the false sign of the preaching of the good news that Jehovah’s Witnesses currently perpetrating before the real one is to take place.

The story of Pentecost is a legend, nothing more. It didn't happen. I would urge you to read Alfred Loisy's "The Origins of the New Testament," which can be found online at earlychristianwritings.com, where he discusses this legend in detail.

Jehovah’s witnessing don’t fulfill anything except those that would preach another doctrine and be cursed, if I believed in the Bible any more.

Matthew 24:14 was fulfilled in the first century. Col. 1:23

And besides, the watchtower baptizes nobody in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

I've been to many baptisms at conventions over the past half-century. I've never heard it.

Oh yeah... they baptize in the name of the Watchtower organization, that is the second and most important question all candidates are asked publicly.

But no mention of Matthew 28:19 & 20 is ever made during the baptism talk at ANY convention EVER.

Even though this is supposed to be the mandate, no mention is made of it.

    Correct lastmanstanding

    2 mandates :

Matt.28:19,20 ...applied to all Christians up to the time of the end

Matt.24:14...Apples only to the 144k and only during the time of the end

No for the simple reason what the JWS are preaching is a Gospel that is tainted with falsities (1914) and corrupt commercialism.

    No.

    1. They have not preached to the entire inhabited earth - about a third of the word (Muslim countries, North Korea, Communist dictatorships etc) is not being actively preached to in the way it is being done in the Wester world.

    2. They have created their own definition of what the "good news" is, they are not merely preaching Christs resurrection, which was the so-called Good News of the NT.

If you compare the missionary/preaching activities of other religions with the JWs you will see that Baptist do more, convert more than JWs.
