We give more to the Watchtower Society than for our local KH

I have been doing the Accounts for our Local Congregation now for 3 years. I just thought, wow our local expenses total just $500 a month, yet we have an ongoing expense each month of $600 for the KH Expansion Work(ie:World Wide Work), $60 for the Traveling Overseer Insurance and $54 for the Local Kingdom Hall Insurance, in addition to the Operating Committee expense of $525.

So, our one Congregation sends $714 a month plus what the Publishers contribute towards the World Wide Work usually between $600 to $700 per month. In other words, we are at least sending, for our little Congregation of 75 Publishers, $1314 a month! What other Religion or Church sends this kind of Money per Month to the Mother Organization?

That's $8568 a year. If there are 120,000 Congregations, that would come out to over a BILLION DOLLARS a year of tax free money!!!!

Again, that is what we are committed to send. Just the World Wide Work Donations would be an additional 1/2 a Billion Dollars a year!

Other high level, long term auditing "brothers" who flew back to Brooklyn for accounting season have postulated similar projections on this very forum. Often it is met with skepticism and in today's current climate concerning Watchtower's pleading for money, claims that WT is making billions per year in donations never flies over well. I for one believe your projections as well as other "auditing" personnel. WT is pleading for money because they can.

Most JWs have been conditioned on the idea that HQ needs their money to support the printing work as well as missionaries/special pioneers.

What the organization has managed to do in the last few years is reduce both these provisions significantly but inculcate a new way of thinking in the minds of the average JW, making them believe that even more money is needed than before.

It is amazing how they have been able to achieve this without any physical proof that more money is needed rather than less.

Here's a serious question. Where does the money go? I mean who exactly is benefiting from it? Don't all the GB members live at Bethel and live modestly? What are they spending it on? It doesn't seem to be on themselves or on big fancy cars or houses......just curious.

Does anyone else think the WTS leaders are playing the poor game to cultivate even more money ???

Asking for children to give up their candy money is indicative to me that someone is playing a slight of hand game.

It also appears that the each congregation is putting more into the WTS coffers than at any time.
