I think Thunders point was missed by a few.....It is NUTS to use Santa in a campaign with a slogan like that.
Child: Mommy that says Santa won't be coming this year
Mom: Err honey tha isn't exactly what they mean
Child: Mommy what do they mean
Mom: (Under breath freaking &^%%&$%$^%$%^ Peta %$%^$^$^% nuts friggin......
Tink: I understand Veg and eat mostly veggies. I don't drink milk don't eat lamb or veal (when I did GOD THE GUILT) but do eat eggs and the otehr stuff.
I personally find this ad campaign tastless (no pun intended) I think I would be more supportive of PETA if they didn't cross into this crap all the time.

well, i said that it was the delivery, not the message, that i objected to, so i did get his point.

I admire anyone who can maintain a vegan or vegetarian diet. I can't. Wish I could, but soon I hear the siren song of a slab of dead cow between two pieces of bread.
Then there are those of us doing the Atkins Diet (successfully!) that requires a large portion of one's eating be confined to meat, cheese, and eggs.
Sorry, PETA, but I for one am not going to compromise my health by discontinuing the only diet I've ever been on that works simply because little lambie-pie bleats when she is taken to slaughter.

Tink: ok
SFJ: I agree the Atkins has been the one thing that really works well for so many. I do find if I keep bread out of my diet I do soooo much better. LOL BUT GOD I MISS the bread Thunder usually makes me this time of year

I could not go vegetarian- I just love a good steak too much. But I will not eat veal because of the treatment of the animals and I don't like lamb so they are safe from me as well.

I really don't think this page is targeted at kids. The level of language would be incomprehensible to small children; and it's almost all text, very few pictures.
I think they were just trying to add a little levity into their pitch by referencing Santa and kids.

Perhaps the influence of the pain meds I took yesterday left me unable to get my point across. My problem was not with the vegan lifestyle at all, rather with the PETA folks using the jolly old elf and his Santas little helper to make a case for milk induced impotence!
I guess nothing is sacred anymore.
