The following is a txt message I just had with a JW about why I decided not to attend meeting. I fully realize that this will get me blocked.

JW : You dont want to answer me why you dont go to the meetings.

Joe : Ok.

(1) The 2 witness rule in the handling of a accusations of child sex abuse.

(2)The covering it up and out of court settlements that they are making to victims of sexual abuse. Unfortunatley the brothers and sisters are totally unaware of what is going on and the magnitude of it.

(3) The comments of Geoffrey Jackson when testifying before the Australian Royal commision on its handling of child sex abuse. Basically it went like this

Lawyer = Do you believe that you are the sole chanel for God on earth.

GEOFERY Jackson= " it would be presumptious to say that we are the only ones speaking for God.

Joe : (4)The flying of the national flag in kingdom halls in Chile to get out of paying a fine.

(5) In the last couple of years with all the changes going on e.g embracing the internet. Governing body featuring so prominently. The anointed who are no longer the faithful and discreet slave. A generation thats an over lapping one. Which is totally with out scripture but just nonsence. With all these changes even if I decided to go back I couldn't. Because the religion I left is no longer there.

Joe : And the list just keeps going.

Joe : Sorry forgot. When the Australian government investigated Watchtower polices in handling accusations of sex abuse. Watchtower had on file over 1000 individual cases, and not one was reported to police.

Conversation ends and I am yet to get a reply. So I'm guessing I'll either be blocked or get the imperfect humans reply. I fully realize many here will tell me this is the wrong approach, but I needed to vent.

Jehovah didn't pick the Watchtower Publishing Corporation based on the fact that this organization disobeyed Jesus's condemnation of his true loyal followers of setting a time on god's own sacred time. ie. 1874, 1914, 1925, 1975 etc

They will want to "talk" to you,

The purpose of this will be to determine if they will call a JC meeting

If they do, from what I've seen, this will be a formality,

The only way to avoid this is to "get out of Dodge"

PS they are not above BSing you,

I hope it turns out better for you but that's the way I see it,

Remember the only power they have over you is the power you give them,

You dont have to answer to them for anything.

Well, they hopefully will learn an important life lesson: If they keep asking someone why he is doing - or in this case, not doing something - he will eventually answer.

If they cannot stomach your answer, Joe, I hope they will have the decency to remember THEY kept asking you about it . You didn't volunteer it. I doubt, though,they will give a moment's thought to the context in which you replied: THEY asked you.

Putting any thoughts about the org's lies & corruption down in an email/letter/text message to an active J.W. is the biggest no-no for any fading J.W.

One to one discussion - yes, but never put anything in print. I hope your contact doesn't do the dirty on you.

Ok ..."damage done" - which is all relative anyway as to what you are prepared to "lose or keep" -

If they subpoena you for the JC then contact a lawyer and send them a letter which states that the lawyer will now be representing you and that he / she is requesting all the Documents/Charges/Evidence etc etc in preparation and that in the interim they refrain from making any remarks, announcements, gossip about you and your family.

This was my recent position too and they took flight ! [they have to send your lawyers letter to Bethhell and Bethal will respond by telling them to drop all proceedings, BUT they will still shun you [as good as if DF'ed] -

So ...what are you prepared to give up or lose ? It will be a Stale-mate position~

I was already being shunned totally so I had nothing more to lose ~

Well done Joe, they asked and you replied truthfully. You are also aware of the consequences of criticising the holy Watchtower religion.

It's never a matter of right and wrong with them, it's a matter of loyalty to the club. A member has to give up personal opinions, common sense and reason and in a state of self denial bow before the mighty GB.

They are not worth it and you have made your stand against this ignorant harmful cult. Well done for speaking out!

I think time will tell about that being the best approach. That is how you feel, those are your thoughts, so I personally see nothing wrong with that approach.

Also, I know that we call it a conversation, but those lame reaching out attempts are unilateral. they ask questions but not with any interest in anything you have to say. Their purpose is a mixture of curiosity, they want to know what you thin, but only with the purpose of determining how they will treat you from than point on, not because they have any interest in you.

If you asked me, you got a whole lot of nosy brainwashed inappropriate people off your back.
