Our radio station this morning had a subject of which toppings should be forbidden from pizza.

OTWO: But we often make one with leftover rotisserie chicken using bbq sause instead of tomato sauce. That one typically gets red onions and green peppers and lighter cheese.

Try it with cilantro instead of, or in addition to, the green peppers.

Which day of the month is it that you do this? And what's your address ... ?

    LOL

PS: Lightly grilled (READ: slightly undercooked) chicken breasts also work very well for this BBQ chicken pizza. Grill 'em, let them cool, then chop them up. You want to slightly undercook them as the meat gets cooked a second time when the pizza bakes in the oven.

Hmmmmm. They all sound good and/or interesting!

For me: Mushrooms; pepperoni; bacon; sausage; pineapple; sprinkled with some heat.

    @Londo,

I didn't even know that! Here in the Netherlands 'American' pizza mainly means thick and softer crust/bottom, as opposed to the thin and crispy Italian pizza.

If Domino's pizza has a universal recipe: that's what I like! But maybe I would like some other style - yet unknown to me - even better :-D

I`m going to try some of these additional toppings the next time I get a basic pizza base and be experimental with some of all your suggestions .

I quite like different sorts of cheese ,pepperoni ,garlic ,black pitted olives ,anchovies ,avocado ,red onions ,and a sprinkling of Jalapenos topped with tomatoe slices.

    And definetely no pineapple

Greek tomatoes, Feta cheese and olives.

    (No pineapple; no anchovies!)

When I was in Rome I ordered a salad for lunch and the waiter asked if I would like some garlic pizza bread with it. When it came it was obviously freshly made dough, piping hot and absolutely the best garlic pizza I've ever had in my life.

    Anders Andersen:

Domino's is probably the worst pizza chain here in the US…I don’t even consider it pizza. It’s to pizza what Donald Trump is to Presidents. :)

I can’t imagine that is all you have in the Netherlands. I think you would be blown away at some of the places over here.

    Londo,

Maybe I just have bad taste :-D

Anyway we also have New York Pizza over here, but I think they suck. Can't even remember last time I had a slice of their pizza. It just doesn't appeal to me.

Also PizzaHut but there's something about their logo that isn't right. Or maybe it's just because they're not anywhere near me. There is only one PizzaHut in the whole country, but they have their own independent menu. Apparently PH is not a success over here :-p

We don't have Papa John's yet; they may come to NL with 1 shop this year, but that will probably be 300km away from my home.

What are your favorites? Least I can do is check the website and drool over foodporn...

My favorites are all local...never a chain restaurant.

In my area (Richmond, Virginia): Leonardo's, Maldini's, Mary Angela's, Nonna's.

My favorite places which closed long ago were Pacino's and Roberto's. I still think back on them longingly.

I don't care for Pizza Hut either...I can't remember the last time I've been there. It's probably been over 10 years, if not 15. I grew up eating that because that's what my parents got, but like the religion they raised me in, I didn't know anything else.

My wife orders Papa John's and sometimes it's okay. But it would never be my preference. Of course, right now, I am dieting, so no pizza for me from anywhere unfortunately.

I would love to go to Chicago one day and have a real Chicago-style pizza.
