"......But That's Because The Light Gets Brighter and Brighter....."

My mother asked me a question yesterday regarding a comment she made to an elder about how the"Slave" predicted 30 or 40 years ago that there would come a time when false religion would become so abhorrent that the governments and people would de-cloak the priests of their attire and would stop the celebrating of some holidays. I recalled that statement being made. I asked her what her point was. She replied that "it just goes to prove that the "faithful and discreet slave had Jehovah's spirit because what they said is coming true". (She was listening to a radio program that said the government is trying to dismantle religion).....I said, "Suppose your right. You're saying that their prediction coming true proves Jehovah's spirit guides them, right?" My mother answered, "That's what I'm saying". So I said, "And in the last 30 or 40 years, the Slave" has also agreed that their understanding was wrong in the past, such as their statements about the King of the North and the King of the South". She said, "That's true". So I said, "Then, when their predictions are wrong, this must just prove that the "Slave" DOESN'T have Jehovah's Holy Spirit"......Her answer: "But that's because the light gets brighter and brighter".

There is none as deaf as those that do not want to hear and none as blind as those that do not want to see

I guess this proves Jehovah's Witnesses aren't free thinkers.

Absolutely no doubt about it minimus -- it is why people like Randy Watters left which he has admitted on his site and in the newsletter he publishes. Others also. In the end if the exodus of free thinkers continues, the organization wil be left with "YES (WO)MEN ROBOTS"

Do you (and especially all you JW lurkers here) honestly believe that Jehovah wants "YES (WO)MEN ROBOTS" to serve him with no criticall thinking ability. I certainly do not

The problem with that logic is JWs aren't the only ones to predict this. Go back 30 or 40 years ago and the courts stopped prayer in public school. Several atheist started pressing the point legally, and since then religious issues within the government have become prominent. Years ago I heard the same statement by some born-again preacher and others.... so what does that say about them - they too have Jehovah's Spirit? Too bad JWs can't listen to what other religions or preachers are saying. If the could, they would find out that many things they think have been solely divined by the WTS are also beliefs or common knowledge among other Christian groups.

Didnt the Puritans and Oliver Cromwell in Great Britain do this about 350 years ago anyway? They certainly banned the celebrating of Christmas if my history memory serves me correctly.

The kicker is---The Witnesses have the truth, they express things that prove true and this PROVES Jehovah's spirit is directing them but if they screw up------Jehovah lets his light shine on them progressively and it's not their fault!

The Watchtower gives JWs this frame of mind and if I should say so, myself, it works well for them.

Religious theory doesn't have to make sense does it? Isn't that the nature of religion? . . . beliefs that don't make rational sense . . . accepted without proof . . . or even the possibility of demonstration. Just hollow claims?

Magic is real . . . there must be evidence somewhere . . . I'll accept it until you disprove it. Of course the Wizard knows he is safe, because that which can not be rationally proven, can not be rationally disproved.

Just believe and send in your money, all will be fine . . . trust us.
