Aww border collies are such cute pups. I think they tested one of the highest in intellegence, it was this practical test that involved things like if the dog would use it's paw to get something out from under a board, or if it would think to back up if you put a blanket over it's head and shoulders. It was amazing how easy the tasks were for some breeds and not others.

Mysterious, yes I think on one test I saw on the news they were number 2, (under the large poodle...makes no sense) but on other tests they are tested as nummber 1 which makes more sense because they are one of the only dogs who breeders breed specifically for intelligence and nothing more (like looks). Now the problem is, is that border collies, while learning things awefully fast, can learn bad habits just as fast. The funny thing is, is my dog pays close attention to my facial expressions and reacts accordingly. I have to be careful to never show disapointment because negative reinforcement is bad bad bad for border collies.
She is turning out great though, honestly better than I expected for a puppy. She is already paper trained and has never once had an accident in our care and she has been with us for 2 weeks now. Also she knows her name, and "no", "come", "treat", "sit", "lay" and "outside". She seems to work a lot with her paws in moving things, and finding hidden objects. Already she is trying to herd my guinea pigs to certain parts of their cages. She is really strict with schedules though, waking us up at 5:30 in the morning to play.
There is much to learn, but I am eagerly awaiting her growing up with us. She is an awesome, beautiful dog.
