I, for one, am VERY GRATEFUL for the two books.

With all of the talk of Babylon and their history, and I wanted to study for deeper research info. [read, "DO MORE"]

After I checked out some books from the library RE Babylon, it was then that I found out about the 607 date being bunk for the fall of Jerusalem

After that, I started scoffing at most of the anti-typical garbage that the WTS claimed was fullfilled in our day.

Before finding out about the date, I used to wonder where the WTS came up with some of those anti-typical fullfilments. But after finding out about the date, I finally saw that it was just a big jizz shoot-off for the Writing Dept to make claims that were more far-fetched than the last:

"Rutherford, being a breach birth baby in 1919, is the anti-typical fulfillment of Isaiah hiding out in the shitter to drop the kids off at the pool all the while Jerusalem was being destroyed. Freinds, this fully explains why Rutherford was such a drunken ass."

Yes, it all makes sense to me now...

In fact the second book helped me to escape this nonsense

    Exactly!!!

Well I was ragged on for not commenting enough, didn't really understand the material. I thought it was rather boring and such. Though there are a few people I know who are in love with the books. How the prophesy really strengthens their faith and how "grateful" they are to the "faithful and discrete slave" because there is no way they could ever hope to understand the books without them.

That always killed me when people would say that.

Maybe the 'friends' couldn't understand these books as the WTS does because, well.....

...the WTS quite likely decides how Bible prophesy is fulfilled by letting Coco the Chimp throw darts at a wall size picture of Ray Franz...

...Umm, that sounds more like it.

God only knows how they think up that stuff.

The idiocy of the Isaiah books helped me to leave quicker. Those 2 books SUCKED!!! I HATED them. Like God was applying EVERYTHING to the anointed since 1919! At the end, I was hardly commenting, except to read a scripture.

I actually went through the books and highlighted and circled every mention of 1919.

    Isaiah 1 - 27 times (30 chapters)

    Isaiah 2 - 67 times (28 chapters)

    Total - 94 times

I remember a WT within the last 2 years - the article was about elders or independant thinking - I forget which, or both - saying to the elders '...(tm WTS) have you read both copies of the isaiah books?..' I wondered how many had, bearing in mind the letters in ISOCF to brooklyn saying that not much literature was actually read. I reckon that most litereature is only read by those who have to read at the meetings - most people just stared into space - or read another article in the mags, which is what I did.

Anyone remember the bablyon book studies. It is all 'deep, very deep' which was a way of saying I haven't a clue what it is about so don't ask me to explain, I am having enough trouble trying to understand the questions with the double negatives - 'why wasn't moses not dismayed by aaron's not knowing when he couldn't go into the antitypical temple in 1919' and the like, just rty and find the answer in the paragraph and say that in your own words.

But of course all this obsure data that we learnt gave us the feeling of being 'spiritually well fed' and superior to the under-norished 'worldiings' who were not sitting on a numb bum listening to drivel, but out enjoying themselves without having to 'pay' for it by doing 'kingdom interests' first.

It's funny, but I hated these books too. All I got from them was the '1919' bits and ramblings and the same thing repeated again and again. I have kept quiet about this until now. I thought it was just me, and that I was missing something really profound. But now I see I wasn't alone. I wished I'd had the courage to express my true feelings to the study conductor. He has got to have the most boring, sleep-inducing voice on this planet, and combine that with the most boring books ever written and you can imagine what torture it all was!

One positive point - the Isaiah books are great if you suffer from insomnia - one minute spent reading that drivel and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..........

I got out of the cult before those dammed books were published.. thank god!

If the "REvelation" book is any clue on how they are, then they probably suck too. CAn you all imagine that the "stings" of locusts are the publications that we leave behind?????/ The idiots amaze me, and I bet that book is pretty much impossible to understand, and more boring to study than hebrew.
