Welcome to the board CdL. At first when I saw your moniker, I thought you lived on a float house on a lake in Idaho but read on to see you are another limey! No problem with that so hope you can pick up on the fact that leaving the witlesses will be the best decision you will ever make. When I left, I had been invited to meet with the committee to consider my misdeeds. I told them to have a good time without me so soon thereafter I got the official DF letter. Twas no skin of my teeth as I was pretty much ostracised by my family any way and at age 14 I was pretty much into not wanting to be around the dick heads anyway. I was pretty adamant about my dissappointment with the whole religion, so fading was not something that crossed my mind. I simply wrote back and told them the feeling was mutual and I was declaring them "dead" as they had the balls to declare me. Ain't never looked back...

Ok, I am now VERY tired!, spent all night reading and reading. Thank you all for your kind welcomes and links.
What I have read has just reaffrimed my conviction, that I need to get out of this organization.
I do feel that a slow fade is the better option, because of my circumstances. I am from the North of England in answer to Brummies question.
