When and where is this movie playing? Are you sure he's not a screen writer? Kidding aside, how would I respond? If it were one of my fleshly brothers, I wouldn't because he's close-minded.

Hi Ralmo
In his letter which was probably copied from WT material he quoted
Armageddon will remove the last vestige of Satan’s earthly organization. Moreover, the Devil and his demons will be abyssed. (Revelation 20:1-3)Tell him you read Rev 20:1-7 and wondered what it means when it says the first resurrection occurs after the 1000 years have ended.
Brummie - Amen to that!
Sandy - Violent movies: Yeah, when I read the book of Judges I was so shocked at the graphic depictions of violence, I almost doubted everything right there. But alas.
Happiness over bad things happening: I definitely agree with this. I noticed this while I was still in the organization. It's like people almost want bad things to happen. Whenever I'd hear about an earthquake, it seemed like some part of my brain was hoping it was some 14.0 mega-destroyer. And it seems like Witnesses eagerly devour reports that crime is going up (even if they misrepresent the report to do so). It's like the more destruction, the better, because it means Armageddon is just around the next bend. Unfortunately, they started saying that a thousand bends ago.
As to making a response, I thought this quote might form the kernal of a thought-provoking comment:
And as so often proved Scripturally in this journal, the present generation will not pass away before Armageddon occurs!?Matthew 24:21, 34.
This statement reflects the old understanding of "this generation." If you were to preach this statement from door to door today, you would be disfellowshipped for apostasy. Since this article contains at least one statement that is admittedly untrue, are you sure the rest of it holds up? Why are you sure?
I think to press the issue any further would result in major systems shutdown for your brother. However, you might be able to get him to read at least the first two sentences: the first one is harmless enough, and indeed reflects an knowledge of "the truth." The second one is thought-provoking and undeniable. I would consider it a victory to get a Witness to go that far. Anything further is icing on the cake.
Those are my two cents! And like the other poster said, I'd be interested in know how (or if) you reply.

Or if you wanted to be really blunt you could point out the old understanding and say, "This article contains apostate thinking. Whoever you got this from is trying to mess with you."
But that might be kind of mean. :)

Why dontcha send him an outline of all the "any day now" Armageddon timeline predictions by the WT-BATS? You don't hafta add another word to it. The list of failed prophecied timelines for Armageddon for the past 100 yrs. says it all.

This makes me so sad!!! I didn't grow up this way so it is totally apalling to see that people teach this to their children. I have a five year old son who question me all the time about what happens when he dies and so on, and its hard to answer some of his questions. Wow, to have to explain that to him!!!! I can't even imagine! How horrible that you would celebrate traumatic things happening to anyone of this earth. We are all God's people no matter what are beliefs are and saddens me when anything bad happens to anyone. I guess since I was never in and never got brainwashed its easier for me to see the outside, but I totally can't imagine living that kind of life and actually believing that!!
JWs are a religion of fear. All that Armageddon talk is designed to instill a fresh round of fear in the existing members. Especially 'cuz it doesn't work anymore on us escapees ...
Just in case any members have doubts, they better suppress those doubts and line their ducks in a row, 'cuz God is maaaaad as hell an' Armageddon's a'comin'!!!
Darn brainwash!!!
Glad I'm gone!!!

Great point about the idiotic Greek. And I love Seattle's point about the "apostate thinking". (I missed that comment, because, like Brummie and sphere, I kinda glazed over as well.) What an embarassing sentence! I'd focus on that one a lot, too.

I think that your brother has some major issues. And I agree, he probably directly quoted something that was in the WatchTower or that was told to them at the meeting or at an assembly. The words are so presice, not like an everyday way of speaking to a person.
I find that so many JWs are so hung up on destruction all around them, that this causes many of them to fear and if they fear naturally they will instill this into their children. Its any wonder that JW children rebel as they get older as they see nothing happening as to what their parents taught them. Some laugh at it and deside that its not for them. Their parents are fanatics. I mean lets face facts since the 50's they ( the GBody) have stressed that armegaddon is emminent, around the corner, right outside our door way, at the threshold. I mean how much of this insanity can any one person take.
We all know how much we did for the "truth", and we believed it. I mean thats what we were taught and when you see that "truth", not happening I would just t say forget it. They are lying. I am no longer going to waste my life on people who constantly teach " doom and gloom".
Your brother and most JWS needs some chill pills. And speaking of that matter do you realize how many of them JW's are on anti-depressants and tranquilizers. They go around like stress nuts basically because they have no cotton pickin idea when and if God is really going to burn the earth, open it up and swallow buildings and people. Cause hurricanes, earthquakes. etc. No wonder that so many JWs freaked when the WTC came tumbling down. Just the very actions of the Watchtower headquarters that day is indicative of the narrow mindedness they displayed, locking Bethel. I mean how ridiculous. Maybe they forgot what Matt 28:10 says. Did they momentarily show fear of man. Seem to me that was the case.
I would just suggest to your brother he needs to relax and take each day as it comes. I am not kidding JWs are literally falling apart at the seams physically and mentally, and emotionally. They are afraid of their own shadows. I use to hate it when my parents would say Jehovah watches you all the time, he knows if you are being a good Christian or doing things that displeases him. And if you are doing wrong, you will be destroyed by Him. yada yada yada. The same message everyday, your bad you pay.
Please new friend enjoy your freedom and don't for one minute let any one in your family make you feel quilty for who and what you are and the choices you have made in your life. God's speed.
