I wanted a name that was NOTHING like I am. I am the most easy going follow the leader kind of person on Earth! I NEVER stray from the fold and only use a hammer for a hammer etc. I don't do anything to stir things up or disagree with anyone! I'm soo sweet and gentle and don't even drive my Jaguar over the speed limit...ever! And all women everywhere can trust me to protect their virtue! Maverick

Big Tex
When I worked at American Airlines, I coordinated the international reservations offices with their frequent flier problems/questions. One of the offices (Jakarta, Indonesia) started calling me Big Tex. The other offices found out about it and they took to using the same name.
And now you know.
Here's the real Big Tex (he's a 50 foot statue at the state fair of Texas):

I got my nick name in the navy. It is a character from an old christmas animation "The year without a Santa Clause".
Our ship was in the shipyards for repairs and we had to wear hard hats all of the time. I let my hair grow long becase nobody could see it when at work. Well one day I took my hat off in the shop and this is what my hair looked like.
The name stuck and I liked it. Heck I even have my own theme song with this nickname...hehehe

That's not a difficult one. It's my surname. But board members sometimes shorten it to Kenn.

Lady Lee
<<diving in>>
I was born a Shirley and hated the name my entire life. (No offense to anyone else who bears that name).
When I left the dubs and the marriage and went into therapy I wanted a name that I could feel good about, that reflected the "me" I wanted to become. I didn't want "Shirl" but sort of liked the "ley" part. So I changed the spelling a wee bit and "Lee" was reborn. Although it wasn't legal most people never knew I had another name.
2 years ago when I was married I wanted to be able to say my vows using Lee and not that other name that after17 years felt so foreign to me. I went to the Records Office and had the name changed legally. My birth certificate now has Lee on it.
As for the "Lady" part. I used to post on another board (where I met my writers group). One group of ladies there started calling me Lady Lee and it stuck. I use it for almost all my on-line presence - well at least where I can. Some sites already have a Lady Lee so I wind up being variations of it.
