An almost normal day in dubdom

Wow I must say today was an almost normal day in dubdom if you ignore the few points of terror. I got to go hang with a world friend for a few hours and get my christmas present.

And of course today was my last day ever to go door to door and my second last watchtower preparation.

But there were a few small ways mom decided to make me miserable. Just by getting up this morning I was told that I "made Jehovah smile by doing the right thing [and going door to door]". And then there was the woman in the car group who told mom what an excellent example I am. I wonder what she'll say next week. And of course mom going on at length about how much she enjoys our family study, how much closer to me it makes her feel, how grateful she is for us taking the opportunity to learn more.

    The mysterious countdown: (4)
Sunday meeting, bible reading, watchtower prep, theo min sch/service meeting, 4 days holiday, freedom..

    Hello Mysterious,

I don't know what you are planning, or if it is a permanent freedom. I'm sure you will attain this eventually.

While I am proud of your independence from the mindless cult, I am a little concerned about your dub momma:

And of course mom going on at length about how much she enjoys our family study, how much closer to me it makes her feel, how grateful she is for us taking the opportunity to learn more.

I was a blind parent and did not realize how desperate my son was becoming, even though he never missed an opportunity to tell me. Bang Your HeadI just hope you realize your mom really believes what she is saying and doing, totally dupped. So please be kind to her when reality hits her. She may become a mess. But if she gets mean, as some fundys do, well. . . . remember, you have friends here. Hope you keep us up to date on your plan.

    Steve

    Hi Mysterious,

What a great feeling! No more Sunday meetings! I remember the first Sunday I didn't go to meeting. It was a beautiful day. I thought about all the suckers reading the dumb ol' Watchtower, trying to muster an original comment. Are you going to have just a major breakout party, or what?

Mysterious, when I was your age I drew a picture of a girl trapped in a bottle, a mason jar like people use for canning. She's peering out of that jar trying to imagine what life must be like outside of her own little prison. I was in a situation much like yours. Took me a lot longer than you to break out of that mason jar. So I'm glad the days to your independence are moving quickly along. Good luck with college and I know your life will be full of promise!

This is kind of what I expect to happen when we finally have to have "The Talk" with Mom.

How it will turn out,we do not know. That is why we decided to wait until after a mini vacation we had planned a long time ago as a family.

After the holidays we will be putting a real full load on Mom.How it will turn out in the end is anyones guess. All we can do is hope for the best but what has to be said and what has to be done will be said and done right after the holiday.I am wishing for the best but fearing the worst. You can never judge fully what another persons reaction will be especially when their minds are fully in the control of the borg.

Last meeting ever tonight. Almost makes me want to wear something nice since I don't intend to wear dresses again. Almost.

I suppose I will have to put up with the year text for a few more days. It should be interesting what she does with the extra calendar and year text she ordered for me, I dont intend to use them. Though I suppose I could fold it in half so the proganda doesn't show and write "worldly" holidays all over it. No use for the year text at all though. Not going to touch it with a ten foot pole..
