Just a point like Metatron's above, on use by Jesus of God's name.

The JW's always go on about how Jesus was supposed to have made God's name known.

Yet when the disciples come to him and say "Teach us to pray" here is a good chance for him to put this into practice and use the name Jehovah.

So what does he do instead of starting the prayer, " Jehovah, our father in heaven, hallowed be your name." he decides to start with "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name." . To me this was one of the biggest chances of making the name "Jehovah" known but Jesus decides not to. So if Jesus thought that not using the name Jehovah, in a prayer he was using to teach how to pray, wasn't important. Why do the JW's seem to think it is.

So my point is this; the organisation does not always actually put in writing, in an unequivocal and unambiguous way, exactly those things that the JW’s teach verbally and I have found this countless times. Does anyone agree?

Yes I do. I remember a sister warning me about Harry Potter, and having those movies in my home will cause demons to come into my home. Maybe even molest my children. She used the Knowledge book. On page 112 it states,"All such present-day messages fromthe spirit world come from wicked spirits" and then she said, except for the GB, they are the only ones who still get messages. Now this was not written in the book, but a widly held belief.

Two more prominent examples come to mind. 1975, when lots of definite statements were made verbally (some recorded on tape from Conventions), but nothing concrete in writing. And only very recently the R & F frequently claimed that it would be only Jehovah’s Witnesses that would survive Armageddon even though that bald statement does not appear anywhere in their publications.

There must be lots more examples of "understandings" that are not actually written clearly anywhere (in words of one syllable or less).

    Excellantly put Czar!

If it were'nt for the millions of mindless useless eaters this nightmare would not exist. Then they have the nerve to tell you that independent thinking is wrong, and that Satan was the first independent thinker. Well I say if it were not for independent thinkers non of us would be able to speak to each other right now on this forum! Independent thinkers are what make this world go round.

But in the live forever book it states on page 255: "There was just the one ark that survived the flood, not a number of boats. And there will be only one organization-God's visible organization-that will survive the fast-approaching "great tribulation". It is simply not tru that all religions lead to the same goal. You must be part of Jehovah's organization, doing God's will, in order to receive his blessing of everlasting life."

This is saying, join us or die in my mind.
