I cry everytime I watch it.

It is one of the few movies that can bring me to tears, too.

Remember: Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.

I saw this movie again, it's one of my all-time favorites. Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed were so well-cast, as was the dastardly Mr. Potter (Lionel Barrymore).

I don't like Pottersville. I like capitalism with a heart, as personified by George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart's character). Potter exploited people and stole the $8000 he found in the bank. Bailey tried to help the people out, and they came to his rescue.

I didn't think Stewart's performance contained even one ounce of saccharine (despite the happy ending). He played a man struggling with the realities he faced. Because of performances like this, he was one of the best actors of all time.

This was the first time for me to watch this movie. For the most part , I found it extreamly depressing, and the bridge scene was a little disturbing to me for personal reasons.

As the angel trying to earn his wings explained how each and every person affects so many people , I thought to myself how very true that is. I really started crying ,when on top of all the money the towns people left ,was the book, signed by the angel thanking him for helping him to earn his wings.

IF only we all had a guardian angel to give us an idea of how precious our lives are, even when we can't see it ourselves, would be a great gift.

All in all it was a great movie of self sacraficing, strong convictions of being true to oneself, the cost of those things, the despire of a life that didnt go the way your dreamed, but in the end realizing that is is a wonderful life. Just to be alive and loved.

    (((Dede)))...

I'm pretty damned confident that you've already earned those wings....you've made an impact with your honest and oft times naked presentations of your life and feelings and love for others...........you have impacted me though, I've probably never told you that.

Enjoy this Christmas......burn those bridges and live life on your terms.......I'm only just appreciating that ability now, myself.

Tonight was filled with love and happiness and celebration for me..........I cherish each moment of authentic joy shared with others these days......I may not get my wings but, I'd not change a thing if given the chance.....all that I am is the sum of all that I was.....tempered by all that i choose to be...........
