So far I have a gorgeous new thick, rose-colored robe and slippers, and perfume from my hubby. In addition, I got a yoga mat from Princess and family, See's Chocolates, a wine rack, and we got 2 tickets to see "Chicago" at the theater in Seattle in February, from our kids, a calendar about Ireland, and there are a few more things under the tree for when our son and his family get here...............soon. We also got a REAL Gingerbread House (incredible) sent from Princess' sister in law and brother in law, in Boston.

I gave Dave a book he's wanted to read (Portrait of a Killer, about Jack the Ripper, a new alarm clock-CD player, 2 Stan Boreson silly-Christmas-songs CD's, and a telescope. Dave also got a barbecue tree ornament from Princess and family, and some of her home-made caramels, to-die-for.

No necklaces for me of any type.

But.....I did get some nice items.

I received the joy of watching my children's excitement, the glee on their faces as their fondest dreams came true, and the tight squeezes and hugs they gave me.

My wife's eyes sparkled as my son gave her a gold chain, and she glowed when my daughter gave her a colorful necklace. She has worn both around her neck all day with pride and love.

    Life is good.

Well, you know, I wasn't expecting anything this year, which made the few gifts I did get that much more impressive.

I did buy myself a couple of flashy, inexpensive Christmas tree pins on eBay, and some books, and several varieties of tea at a shop near my job. Apparently my gramma's annual $50 check is in the mail, so I'll send her a nice note and tell her that's what she got me.

My sister has no money, really, so she baked good stuff for all her dear families. She lives across the country from me, so my goody box got shipped 3,000 miles for extra emotional zip. Plenty of Christmas charge in that box of pumpkin bread, shortbread and peanut butter cookies! And it's all gone now; we were too lazy to cook, so it was our Christmas dinner.

And we got to stretch Christmas out for two weeks by going to visit my daughter's friend in Monterey and my son in Atascadero.

I have a medical cannabis card, so I was delighted to get some kif from a friend. He had collected it himself and realized it was too potent for him -- the most spectacular impulse gift I've ever received.

So, by lowering my expectations, I made out like a bandit. Funny how that works.

I got to go to chicago and visit my daughter, grands, and two sons. Watched them open their gifts. I didn't see the oldest son. Why? hmmmmToo much Christmas spirit, maybe?

I received a ferris wheel wooden picture frame (really neat) from my daughter. Victoria's Secret perfume set from my son, Sterling. A foot bath massager for my aching feet when I come home from work. And a Chinese rug. (I'm an Oriental fanatic.)

I got $50.00 from my Dad, which I promptly spent on my kids. And his girlfriend gave me a small heart-shaped china ring holder.

I was expecting a digital camera, so I could show you guys my tree, but it didn't come. I will buy it for myself next week.

Oh, I forgot..the only two gifts I wanted were a camera and a drill. A good one. (Yes, a drill.) I am the "handywoman" around the house. He knows nothing about fixing anything. Including the car. I can fix anything. But, I need TOOLS!!!! That will be my gift to myself next week too.
