I am not used to exchange Christmas gifts, so I actually sent( and give) just one to my Secret Santa.
I love to give "Sinterklaas" gifts which I have sent to several. That are always small items and always containing sweets....
and computer made personify cards (which made the receiver very, very happy)

However, just before Christmas I gave Viv a new computer since her old one was suffering from "Fatal Errors"
She asked me "when I give up smoking, will you give me a new computer then? " and I agreed (since I already decided that same morning to buy her a new one) told her after she made me a solemn promise to quit smoking: " now I don't have to ring **** - now you may call him yourself....." and then she admitted that she already decided to quit smoking.......

My husband and daughter claim they "just don't get" Christmas, so I didn't buy them anything. However, I was happy and affectionate and laid-back all through the season, so their gift from me was... me at my best!

My son has the same problem but we spent a weekend at his house making friends with his other family.

Hm, in retrospect we gave my daughter a trip to Monterey! She had originally suggested it as an act of mercy for a friend of hers who has no relatives in the state. We all went together. Was fantastic.

My workmates got good trinkets: copies of a Cirque du Soleil DVD.

My sister got some of her favorite Avon stuff, and I sent her a gag gift also: Copies of Why Cats Paint and Why Paint Cats, from Amazon.com.

I gave all my love to everyone I know from the very bottom of my heart.

I hosted my very first "Nochebuena" in my home. My 2 sister in laws and all their children came over. we ate, drank, danced until the next day.

I sat up all night with my 4 month old niece. I cradled her in my arms and bonded with her. When it was time to leave, she cried.

I gave my 14 year old nephew time on the computer. I let him burn as many cds as he wanted. I told him that my home is open all year round for him.

all in all, I couldn't have asked for anything more. It's incredible how much of this I missed out on for so many years. I can't wait for next year!!

Tammy, leave your "past" in the past. You are free now. Christmas is not about how much you spend, or that your gifts "suck." You can make it into whatever you want. It's about giving the best of you to others. I wish you the best.

    Country Girl,

    Cashmere and wool trench coat,

What a great idea! My daughter just told me she needs a warmer trench coat than the cotton twill one she has now.

Geez ... WOW ... YOU ALL put so much time in it ...
Well Tony got a suite, that was because he needs it, otherwise I'm sure he would have asked for a few video games, or again any kind saber or kimono ok kung fu tools (he have too much already), so I'm very happy with that ... and well he is happy with it

A silver necklace that says "Princess,"(she thinks she is one)

    Set her straight, will ya?

I gave my husband a Giro Pneumo bike helmet (the official helmet of the USPS team)

My daughter two CD's and a Barbie Swan Lake Barbie along with other misc. things

My son a Mega Blocks Ninja Storm playset and I've already forgotten what else.

We don't go overboard with the kids since their Auntie does. They were sitting in a pile of presents when it was all over, and quite happy with it.

I bought Mulan a yoga mat and dad a cute ornament and some home made caramels. My brothers and I went in on tickets for them to Chicago (the musical).

My mother in law gets irritated when I spend money on her. She can afford whatever she wants and is a bit offended when people buy her things. Whatever. The last three years I put together a scrapbook album (Creative Memories) of the kids from that year. She says it's the only thing she ever wants from me at Christmas.

I make her husband candy and cookies. He peeks in the box, makes sure that is what is in there, then hides it. He absolutely refuses to share.
