The living room couch was covered with plastic.

LOL, that is so true of my grandparents. I'm half Sicilian from my dad's side. And yummm...that made my mouth water thinking of my nona's meatballs!

I didn't realize so many people here had Italian backgrounds! I do not have Italian grandparents... Oh, how I wish I did!

Could someone direct me to a good recipe for Italian spaghetti "gravy" on the web? You've made me suddenly very dissatisfied with my dressed-up Prego sauce.

and btw, we sicilians are not being rude when we cut you off in the middle of a sentance... that is the only way

we knew how to stop the other person and get our say in....otherwise he would ramble on forever.

we don't believe in conversational edicate[?]....

many a meal came off like a shouting match which my german mother never could fathom...but I suspect its because we need the anger to generate enough stomach acids to digest the 5 course meals we were forced to eat under threat of our food going to starving chinese....

you're too fat.... eat! eat! [Mongia mongia!]

    LOL Cute and true.

We could also add....we find any reason to have a "family dinner" which includes cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and that wierd Uncle Joe who you swear is in the mafia. Ok maybe that's just my family.
