Thanx for the welcome party guys.
But the weird thing is...I still feel like I'm doing something wrong by being here.
I must have been brainwashed pretty hard all those years.
Old habits die hard I guess.
It's just so weird... I was born and raised in the truth, and don't know how to live my life without it !
What do I do now? What's next? I don't really know if I even believe in god!
Do I go out and get a girlfriend now? ( I always turned the ladies down, because my parents and the elders told me to)
I don't know where to start.
I just want to curl up into a ball and wish it all away!
Nothing makes sense anymore.

Adam, welcome to the board. I can really relate to your above comments. They're the way I felt after leaving and before getting "adjusted" to outside life with the help of....
(1) This board and another information board called www.freeminds.org
(2) Reading Ray Franz's book "Crisis of Conscience" (available through www.commentarypress.com or barnes and noble or other book-selling site) -- to help see that the WTS is merely a man-made organization stumbling from one mistake to another, while claiming divine guidance. (Ray used to be on the WTS' Governing Body)
(3) Socially opening up, first to my sister and another ex-JW friend, and gradually to more other "normal" (what we used to call "worldly") people.
As far as "God" goes -- that one takes awhile to decipher. Our heads were filled with so much junk about "Jehovah" -- alternately a violent and loving God, seeming always ready to take away our everlasting life for the smallest violation, whatever.... I lean towards their being a Creator, but not one who is actively involved with mankind. You will come to form your own truth about this matter in due time.
Keep posting your thoughts, questions or whatever you want to here. This forum is a GREAT stepping stone on your way from the "Borg" to whatever comes next in life.

My suggestion to you. Just dont give up on prayer to the Creator of the heaven & Earth. HE is the truth. The WT says THEY are the Truth, The only WAY & you cant have life unless you go their WAY!!! That is the LIE!!!Jesus said " I am the way the truth & the life ---" I too think if you read Crises of Conscience .or "Combatting Mind Control".... You will be O.K. it doesnt come all at once. I was out there "in the world as they say)( they kicked me out cos I didnt believe Jesus came invisably in 1914)for a year & half before I realized it was NOT the TRUTH but THE LIE!!!! It's just normal that it feels "wrong" to be here. It's against everything you always were thinking (don't go look on the internet - that's demonic)
