I have a "reasonable degree" of trust in the WT leadership.

After many years of consideration, I have found that the only reasonable thing to do in connection with the WT leadership is to NOT TRUST THEM AT ALL!

    Let's review: It's a cult!

It must be causing a stir otherwise they would not have spent time and resources on damage control. There's no doubt about it, Jackson is responsible for being a stumbling block to some JWs. Occasionally you can read about his testimony playing an important part in the waking up of some JWs.

I wonder if Jackson has thought of stepping down? I would be surprised if he hasn't, at least, thought about the damage he has done and been very sad. He's in a similar position as Morris was and continues to be but Jackson comes across as a little more humble than him.

It would be lovely to see him return to his wife's Island home and start a family. He may even begin to wake up when he meditates on all his experiences as a GB member.

cofty - put it in the first person as Losch would say it.

    ______________________________________________________

This is not to say that [I am] perfect and never makes mistakes but Jehovah and Jesus trusts [me] who cares for things to the best of [my] ability and with the best of motives. Shouldn't [you] then trust [me] as well? To appreciate the extent of Jehovah's and Jesus' trust in [me], reflect on what he has promised [me]. He has promised [me] immortality and incorruption. Soon, just before Armageddon, [I] will be taken to heaven.

Since 1919 of our common era, [other men just like me have] been put in charge of some belongings of Christ. According to Matthew 24:47 when [I am] taken to heaven Jesus will then at that point entrust all his belongings to [me]. Does this not reveal immense trust? Revelation 4:4 describes [me] as co rulers with Christ. Revelation 22:5 says [I] will rule, not only for a thousand years but for ever and ever. What immense trust Jesus shows toward [me]. Since Jehovah God and Jesus Christ completely trust [me] should [you] not do the same? ...

So, whom do you trust? You fully trust in Jehovah, Jesus and [me]. To a reasonable degree you also trust all of your fellow Brothers and Sisters...something else we need to trust in – God’s Word...

W 07 5/1 - genuine anointed Christians do not demand special attention. They do not believe that their being of the anointed gives them special “insights,” beyond what even some experienced members of the great crowd may have. They do not believe that they necessarily have more holy spirit than their companions of the other sheep have; nor do they expect special treatment or claim that their partaking of the emblems places them above the appointed elders in the congregation.

This doesn't apply to the Governing Body Members of the Faithful & Discreet Slave. They are a special class where a publisher must have even more trust in them over Elders who they may have known personally for decades. They do expect special treatment and Losch makes it clear that Jesus has specifically chosen him to be crowned a King.

Sometimes a bad defence is worse than no defence at all. The shallow reasoning of this broadcast is probably liable to disconcert more JWs than is reassures.

Notice the contrast between unquestioning trust in the GB and trust of fellow Brothers and Sisters 'to a reasonable degree'.

Yes - this is an interesting statement. I always understood that the claim that what made JWs special and their identifying mark that they were the only true religion was that they had intense love for each other , even prepared to die for each other.

Now it seems that , to paraphrase John 13:35 , "By this , all will know that you are my disciples - if you have a reasonable degree of trust among yourselves." While I guess this is a much more accurate description of what relationships are really like amongst JWs , it does seem to lower the bar somewhat.

Soon, just before Armageddon, the remaining members of the Slave will be taken to heaven.

Sounds like prepping for a scam.

    "Where's the money?"

    - It's gone.

    "Where's the GB?"

    - Must be in heaven.

Jehovah & Jesus trust the F&DS???? I don't remember them ever saying that. ~ Doubtful

I don't remember reading that either. But I do recall:

"Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because may false prophets have gone forth into the world." (Shouldn't that apply to uninspired expressions too, that are supposedly "originating with God"?)

One of the reasons we should put total trust in them is because they don't want to lose out on their heavenly reward. ~ Listener

But the even greater reason is that they do not want to lose out on their earthly rewards that they receive right now!

Moses father in law, Jethro, was not a worshipper of Jehovah, but Moses listened when Jethro told him that he needed to appoint qualified men to handle the problems between the Israelites and it was too much for him.

Why doesn't the gb recognize that they were and continue to be wrong and that the "worldly wisdom from a multitude of courts and government investigations about two witnesses and child molestation is the better course?

If it were not for their arrogance and pride, they could have cleaned this up a long time ago instead of refusing to change and fight at every moment. The Boy Scouts had a problem years ago and it is behind them and they now have policies to protect children and are heralded as leaders.

This is further proof that they have no special relationship with God and are the useless/ imitation slave not worthy of any earthly support. To tell their followers that they must support them because they are going to heaven and will be over the mere humans is insane.
